I think I've officially lost track of how many Hikari Fridays have happened so far and I have even less of an idea as to how many Turtles we've seen. The "Clear" Michelangelo and "Clear" Donatello are the latest in that line, each sporting a deco similar to the "Limited Clear" Leonardo seen last month.

After seeing three new molds in the last two weeks (Skeletor, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee), I was hoping to see one of them redeco'd (or a He-Man announced) but it looks like we're back to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm beginning to think that we may eventually see all four Turtles (or five, if Funko did a Venus de Milo) in each of the decos.

As always, you can win one of these via Funko's Facebook page or pre-order them. Each is limited to 3,000 pieces and apparently slated for a July release. Right now I can only find a pre-order listing for Mikey (who has a US$35 list price?).

Despite some controversy and bitter Hollywood infighting over whether or not the film crossed the $100 million mark in its opening domestic weekend, ComicBookMovie reports that Age of Extinction has passed $400 million worldwide in roughly a week. With a holiday weekend coming up in the US for AoE to shore up its domestic take and China enthusiastically contributing more than the USA to the overall take, it seems very much like we will be in for more of these. The good folks over at PopVinyls.com have managed to get a photo of the rarity chart from the Hot Topic-exclusive version of Funko's Disney Mystery Minis series 2 and... I think I like the Hot Topic version a lot better.

Hot Topic has dropped the two Ralph (Wreck-It Ralph) figures and one of the Wall-Es (Wall-E) in favor of three different Ariels (The Little Mermaid). Another nice change is that Hot Topic has swapped the rarities on Pumbaa: that cute version with his snout on the ground is now a 1/12 while the more generic sitting one is a 1/24.

The regular version of Funko's Disney Mystery Minis series 2 was a good-looking set, but the Hot Topic revision is a great-looking set. I can't wait to grab a few of these at my local Hot Topic.

Oh hey, I'm back! And the weather is still pretty much gloomy and rainy in Japan, even though we're in July. The humidity is up, which is nice - my skin is amazing right now. But my students are getting frustrated because we're only a couple of weeks away from the end of the term, and they're just plain uncomfortable.

My schedule has been kind of hectic this school year, a big difference from last year's easy going, perfectly evened-out roster. So I've been getting home more mentally exhausted than anything else, and my usual downtime activity (reading) hasn't been relaxing me all that much during the on hours.

The solution? I turned to music.
