If you haven't heard yet, Disney's next big CG movie will also be their first major Marvel animated movie, Big Hero 6. It's the story of a ragtag group of would-be heroes gathered together by the Japanese government to do the usual superhero stuff, though it doesn't sound like the movie will stick very closely to the original plot. The original roster included the likes of Sunfire and Silver Samurai, but in all likelihood the movie will focus only on the C-level characters that are unique to the team. That starts them off with the first revealed character from the official trailer, Hiro Hamada and his robot Baymax.
Disney Consumer Products did a live preview recently in New York city showing off the first toys from BH6. The first figure is a big lights and sounds Baymax action figure with retractable, spring-loaded wings and probably some other features. He comes with a Hiro figure that hang off his back during battle. The second is a role-play Baymax fist that kids can wear and fire off because all proper Japanese robots need a launching fist.
The movie hits on November 19 and there will be a BH6 booth at San Diego Comic Con. At that point we should hopefully see the remaining characters Wasabi-no-Ginger, Honey Lemon, GoGo Tomago, and Fred (I guess Hiro and Baymax count as two?). And no, I didn't make those names up, I told you they were a ragtag group. Clearly someone was hungry when they created the characters.

You might remember back in April Transformers fans finding Masterpiece Prowl listed in Toys R Us computers, including computers in the UK complete with price. Well bad news came this week as Hasbro has officially canceled their plans to offer the figure in Europe. When Seibertron member Oddimus Prime inquired with TRU about the status of the figure they got this disappointing email reply back:
Thank you for your interest in 'Transformers Masterpiece Prowl'. We have been informed by Hasbro that unfortunately this item is no longer going to be released in Europe.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this availability change.
However, the letter went on to explain that they do have a consolation gift for those who were hoping to get their hands on a Prowl figure. Anyone from Europe (or maybe just the UK, results seem to vary) that contacts TRU about Prowl will have their email put into the store system to automatically receive a free gift with the purchase of any Transformers product (just make sure the email you contact them with matches the one you use for the store). Said gift is a pair of diecast miniatures representing G1 Optimus Prime and Age of Extinction Prime in a gift box. Apparently this same set was given away in parts of Asia to people buying AOE figures on launch day. Sure, it's no Masterpiece Prowl (nothing is, the figure's awesome!), but it is a nice way to score a little something semi-rare for your collection.

Sideshow released this teaser for the Dr. Doom statue a little over a week ago. Now, I’m excited to report the Dr. Doom Premium Format Figure by Sideshow Collectibles is now up for pre-order. Stan Lee’s favorite Marvel supervillain, Dr. Doom, has been given the Premium Format Figure treatment and the result looks amazing. The Dr. Doom Premium Format Figure stands just under 2 feet tall (23.5 inches) and weighs in at 12 lbs. The statue comes with interchangeable masks, so you can show off the Classic mask or the Modern mask depending on your preference. The mixed media approach

After quite a bit of teasing on their Facebook page, Alvin and Cheri Ong of Furry Feline Creatives have fully revealed their new plushes exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con. The series of four is entitled "Kawaii Kaiju Friends" and decks Furry Feline Creatives' Purridge, Ringo, and Dude in costumes themed to those old-school Japanese monster figures.
Kitty Purridge is now "Kawaii Kaiju Purridge" (US$60 each) and can be found in either a tangerine or lightning blue-colored Cyclops-style monster suit. Dude the turtle grows some spiky bits as "Go-Go Supaiku Dude" (US$50). And finally, Ringo the cat transforms into the heroic "Ultra Mega Ringo" (US$50). I presume his battles are going to be more of the pillow fight variety, though. He just looks so squishy! Each of these plushes will be limited to 10 pieces. Given that each plush is handmade, I would make a stop at this booth early if one of these guys is on your shopping list.
San Diego Comic-Con attendees will have a chance to purchase these cuties as well as meet the artists at booth 5149 (right next to Tokidoki). I highly recommend checking them out. Besides being genuinely enthusiastic about their toys and toy culture, Alvin and Cheri always put tons of effort into making their booth look super-cool. Seriously, it'll be hard to miss, visually speaking.

Just a few days ago, Kahotan hosted a broadcast on NicoNico showing off Good Smile's latest ... in the middle of the night here. Thankfully, ani735para on Tumblr grabbed a bunch of screenshots from the broadcast, which have revealed a few things.
Among those are the Nendoroid of Kill La Kill's Kiryuuin Satsuki, which looks positively adorable. Also on the broadcast were Nendoroids of Takebe Saori from Girls und Panzer; Hiei and Ooi from KanColle; Mitsumine Mashiro from Mikakunin de Shinkoukei; Suigintou from Rozen Maiden; and Armin Arlelt from Attack on Titan. Armin's alternate face, in particular, looks quite intense, and I can imagine it'll get some good use in the photography scene!
Like figmas? Well, the broadcast showed off figma Uno Uzume from Fantasista Doll; figma Nagato from KanColle; and figma Racing Miku 2013: EV MIRAI ver., just in case your Racing Miku collection hasn't crushed you under its weight yet. Furthermore, there's ex:ride Spride.06 – TT-Zero 13, perfect to go with the new Racing Miku figma and its Superbike-like stylings.
You can check out even more screen grabs on ani735para's Tumblr post. Anything catching your eye?
