Steel banks, tin toys, military memorabilia, weapons, helmets and uniforms, space toys, knives, arrow heads and legos- people collect all these things- but a “collector of collections?” It’s a description that might fit Ron Collas of Broomall the best. The avid collector has unique and extensive collections of everything listed above and then some.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" poster imagery featuring Playmobils! This image is so much WIN in my book, and would snap these up in a heartbeat, IF they were actual production pieces tho (even if it's only "Colossus" and "The Beast" lol) … But then again, I might be a little bit "biased" here … Heh :) Source: PLAYWORLD / bywayof Amon Lin

Well that was quick. Just a few days ago New York Post reported that movie toy sales have been in a major slump this year. They spoke about how languishing sales are leading to massive price cuts at major retailers. They also spoke about how Transformers 4: Age of Extinction figure sales are 50 percent lower than they were in 2011 for Dark of the Moon. Mind you these have only been in stores for about three weeks now and the movie doesn't open until June 27, but it may not be a coincidence that Walmart has started making big cuts to the prices of Deluxe Generations TF4 figures. has cut the prices of all of the TF4 deluxe figures to just US$9.97, down from the the original price of US$14.96. About a US$5 price drop put these figures into a price range that's much closer to their quality as Hasbro has been simplifying their figures while increasing the prices for a few years now. Thanks to these technically being Generations pieces the prices of non-movie Generations figures have been cut as well. Reports have also come in from people finding discounts in-store as well, but at varying amounts and on more than just deluxe figures.

While your mileage may vary at retail and is currently sold out of some of the better figures at this price it's a good step in the right direction. Hopefully we'll see better prices all around as we get closer to the movie's release.

The folks at Sakura Doujin started Project Snap Fig back in February, reaching out to figure collectors all over for their photos and knowledge. The idea was to compile pictures from notable figure photographers into a book. On top of the photos themselves, Snap Fig will include behind the scenes info about the setup and process behind each shot.

The project is now open for crowdfunding on Indiegogo, with a goal of US$6,000 (which will be flexible). You can get a hard copy of the book starting at the US$40 contribution. There will also be various sizes of prints and a t-shirt available, depending on your contribution amount.

One more thing: I'll actually have some of my work featured in the book! I saw that quite a few prominent members of the community will be featured, so you can see all their good work in one place. With the shot setup and behind the scenes info included, this could end up being a nice educational tool. If all this sounds interesting to you, check out that Indiegogo link and maybe help out. Remember: availability is limited to this funding period only!

Attack on Titan sure has its set of die-hard followers but even those who are only mildly interested in the anime are sure to feel the urge to purchase Good Smile Company's extra-special Nendoroid version of the Levi. Dressed in his cleaning attire, he's all set to attack those giant dust bunnies on your desk and shelves. The good news is this figure comes out this month. The bad news? It is an event-exclusive. He will be making an appearance at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California from July 3 through July 6. The figure will also make its rounds in France's Japan Expo, China's CCG Expo, and Japan's Comic Market 86 (event dates and additional information can be found on the figure's page).

Nendoroid Levi: Cleaning Version will cost ¥3,241 at Good Smile Company's booth during these conventions.
