Can't get enough of Batman? Funko apparently can't, as the company has unveiled another two Hikari Batman colorways. While it's harder to get excited the more often we see these molds, at least some of the decos -- like the PREVIEWS-exclusive Verdigris Batman -- are still cool.
For those unfamiliar with the term Verdigis (as I was until ten minutes ago), it's described as being "the common name for a green pigment obtained through the application of acetic acid to copper plates or the natural patina formed when copper, brass or bronze is weathered and exposed to air or seawater over a period of time." Basically it sounds like rust and it makes for an interesting color scheme. The Verdigis Batman is definitely the cooler of the two and, as such, will be limited to 600-pieces and sold as an exclusive (albeit a PREVIEWS-exclusive has better availability than other exclusives).
The second design is the "Limited Classic Glitter Batman" (the "limited" is ironic considering he's "limited" to a greater-than-average 1500-piece run). While I suppose it's neat to have additional options, if you're going to buy a Hikari Batman you have better options like the "Metallic NVS" Batman (my favorite so far), "Silver Glitter Clear Batman" (which also looks great), and the newly revealed Verdigis Batman. The one nice thing about the "Classic Glitter" Batman is that it matches the "Glittery Silver" TMNT Hikari figure unveiled last week.
Although I imagine that some may scoff at Funko's Hikari sofubi line, some of the figures are apparently selling out so Funko seems to have a hit on its hands. As always, collectors have a chance to win the first copy of one of these figures by following some instructions on Funko's Facebook page. These later Hikari figures apparently have a US$40 MSRP, making them slightly cheaper than the initial few releases. I'm wondering how the pricing and quantities may change as the line evolves. Maybe we'll even see a third mold down the road.
