Yes, you've arrived at the right blog. I have decided to go back to using the original black background of my blog. The former, though eminently readable, was too pink for my taste. I've made a few other changes as well and will begin to list my sales items with photos once again.

    Gene likes it.

  • 05/01/14--22:00: Private William Hudson
  • As one of the few Colonial Marines left standing in James Cameron’s Aliens movie. It totally makes sense to me that NECA chose Private William Hudson to stand alongside Corporal Hicks in their Aliens action figure line.

While they previewed the 2-pack Tractors as Sandtroopers a few month ago, they are adding to the CARS WARS diecasts for the theme parks Star Wars Weekends (starting on May 16th). BIG NEWS – Unlike the releases from last year, John H.  says these are definitely from Mattel! So, they are definitely Expanded Universe now. […]

In addition to the 2-pack Tractors as Sandtroopers and the 3-pack of Obi Wan Doc Hudson and Jawa Pitty’s, there’s also a Chick Hicks as Boba Fett – presumably as a single unless another mystery CARS WARS diecast appears. Thanks for the great early photos, “John H.” This looks like a solid block of diecast […]

Normally this would be my moment to sum up the week and share some of my favorite finds from round about the internet. But this week? Oh no, not this week. It’s National Ukulele Day people. And I’m in love with ukuleles. It’s something about their diminutive size and sweet little sound. They’re a little […]

I'd hazard a guess and say LEGO Star Wars may be responsible for the resurgence of the building block toys that we all love. The games were good, simple fun that could be shared with the younglings, which eventually lead to more games and more birthday and Christmas time requests for the connected sets.

With the popularity of the games and the massive success of The LEGO Movie, it should come as no surprise that LEGO Star Wars is getting another TV special. Titled LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles "Escape from the Jedi Temple," it looks incredibly charming and pretty amusing. I mean, seeing C-3PO ready to throw down with a big gun? That's what I'm talking about!

You can catch "Escape from the Jedi Temple" on the Disney Channel Saturday, May 3 at 9pm ET/PT, or catch the rerun on Disney XD Sunday, May 4 at 7 ET/PT. Anybody planning on watching it?

  • 05/02/14--06:00: C2E2 2014: Henry Cesneros
  • Henry Cesneros' work is something I was unfamiliar with pre-C2E2, but after seeing these photos Tian took from his booth, I'd like to see more. Henry's style involves taking all kinds of scrap metal parts — lugnuts, bicycle chains, old spark plugs, and such — and transforming them into metal sculptures. Some of his work are things like mice, scorpions and dinosaurs, but then you see the Predators, Gremlin, Sonic and TARDIS he's made and you realize just how much work must go into shaping and piecing these together.

Check out the gallery for some more of Henry's work, and let us know if you find a favorite!

American collectibles company Funko is going Japanese with an all-new Sofubi Vinyl Figure line. The Hikari line will feature limited edition figures (ranging from 500 to 5,000-piece runs), each of which will include a certificate of authenticity.

Starting today, Funko has begun holding "Hikari Fridays" where each Friday a new figure will be announced and a giveaway will be held where one entrant will win the first copy (ie, #1 in the limited run) of that newly announced figure.

The first Hikari will be a really cool Metal Mix Leonardo which you can enter to win right now. He's slated to release in July.

  • 05/02/14--07:00: C2E2 2014: Paisley Fawn
  • The majority of Paisley Fawn's C2E2 offerings were different varieties of her signature Smudge plushes. If you aren't acquainted with the creature, you need only look in the gallery to learn of the herd of small, pudgy little plushes that were at the booth. Followers of Paisley Fawn's Manda Tarr will recognize some of the Smudges from previous events, like DesignerCon 2012's Brea the Mammoth and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-inspired Smudges from last year's C2E2, but that doesn't mean that the artist didn't bring anything new and special to this year's shindig.

Two brand-spanking-new Smudges made their debut at C2E2, namely the Legend of Zelda-themed Smudge and a Beetlejuice Smudge. The Zelda one is a lovely Kokiri Forest green and had a Triforce on its hindquarters. The plush even had a little fairy attached. The Beetlejuice Smudge is equal parts cute and creepy and had a very special feature: an articulated tongue!

Beyond the glorious Smudges, the booth also had a variety of Manda's other plushes. In the photo's you can spot her Mole Rat Cupcake Monster, Cute Fox, and Gnarley Narwhal. This truly was a booth overflowing with cuteness!

Take a gander at the gallery to see offerings for yourself!
