Kotobukiya's iconic Holo gets a fourth re-release
Kotobukiya's beautiful version of Spice & Wolf's Holo has become a trademark figure for the company. First released in 2008, she's undergone two subsequent re-releases, most recently in 2011. Now she's back for a near unprecedented fourth time.
This version of Holo is dubbed a 'Renewal Package Edition', but as far as I can tell that simply means a new box rather than any substantial changes to figure. That's a good thing too because this one is a timeless sculpt, simple but elegant and beautiful without being overly flashy. The gentle ripple of the dress, the cute arms outstretched pose, the restrained palette - there's a reason her popularity continues to endure.
For this release Holo receives a thousand yen price bump, but that still brings her in at a very reasonable ¥6,800. She'll be arriving in homes this July, and if you're a new collector who hasn't had the chance to grab her yet, I'd strongly recommend it.

this is the next doll we need!
Dolls everywhere! That could be my motto. You know the dreaded cat ladies with 10 cats? I think if I was a single lady approaching 40, I would be that lady but with dolls. I think that might be creepier. Ah well, we are what we are! Today I thought I’d reintroduce all of us […]

Senran Kagura Niitengos part of 3DS pre-order bundle
I've never really liked figures getting bundled in with deluxe versions of games, but it looks like they're pretty much here to stay, especially in Japan. I say that because yet another game — Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson for the Nintendo 3DS — is on board the figure bundling train. This time, it's a series of Niitengos from Toy's Works that will be a part of Senran Kagura 2's Nyu Nyu DX Edition. The five figures bundled in with the game's deluxe edition will be of Homura, Yomi, Hikage, Mirai and Haruka, along with a drama CD, soundtrack CD and drama CD, all inside an exclusive box.
Senran Kagura 2 comes out for the 3DS in Japan on August 7 and you can watch the full trailer on YouTube. Anyone considering plunking down the ¥10,810 for the deluxe bundle?

Pre-orders open for NECA's Booker; priced at less than Infinity
If you sometimes felt you were living in a parallel dimension where collectibles of enemies in a popular video game were released before that game's protagonist, you'll be happy to know that time-lines are being restored with pre-orders for NECA's BioShock Infinite Booker.
Booker (last seen at Toy Fair) may have lagged behind the pack a little (Elizabeth, one of the Boys of Silence, the Columbia Concept statue, and the Washington Motorized Patriot have already been released; additionally a Ben Franklin Motorized Patriot is slated to release in May), but it looks like the wait was worth it as NECA's Booker is looking pretty good. While I'm a little concerned that the jointing won't offer a lot of movement, the sculpt and paintwork both look great so he'll at least good in more vanilla poses. The figure will will include a Sky-Hook (the iconic BioShock Infinite weapon/traveling device, not to be confused with the Prince Xizor's base in Shadows of the Empire) and a shotgun. Although the Murder of Crows Vigor was shown at Toy Fair, NECA tweeted that the accessory probably won't be included.
NECA's BioShock Infinite Booker can be pre-ordered for US$20 (his MSRP is listed as US$25) and is slated to ship around July.
