NECA's elusive 2014 Godzilla emerges online
We are now entering the final months before Godzilla finally hits movie theaters in May. For the most part, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros has tried to keep everything about this movie secret. So trying to get a look at the new figures from companies like NECA and Bandai have been hard.
They don’t want us to see what Godzilla looks like unless he’s eating a Snickers bar. Of, course that Godzilla isn’t the one that will be in the movie. At NY Toy Fair, NECA had their 2014 Godzilla figure on display, but pictures weren’t allowed.
However, today they gave exclusive photos of their figure to Toho Kingdom, so finally we get to see it. Here we see there are two versions of Godzilla; one painted, and one unpainted. These two versions are also two different sizes that will be available.
So there will be one that measures 12 inches head to tail, and one that measures 24 inches head to tail. Now that you’ve seen NECA’s new figure, what do you think about this new Godzilla?

GROSS, MAN: SPAGHETTI POPSICLES
All I can imagine is some little fat kid who was tired of his mom making him wait until after dinner to eat popsicles. “I’ll show you. I’ll show ALL OF YOU!!!,” the little boy that I made up in my head probably thought to himself. Then he grew up and created this atrocious affront to frozen desserts so that he could eat dinner AND a popsicle at the same time.

WES ANDERSON: CENTERED
Below the break is a cool little supercut by Kogonada highlighting Wes Anderson's mad symmetrical skills behind a lens. Sounds simple on paper, but that 3-shot pan in Moonrise Kingdom had to have been a beeyotch to plan out.
Dude’s easily the most original writer/director alive today and I’m constantly disgusted/baffled when I see people bashing him or calling him a parody of himself. His stories, characters, scenes, and shots are all meticulously crafted in a style that is entirely his own. You might not “get” his films, and if you do, you might not like them, but there’s no denying the man’s a cinematic genius.

Funko introduces their new DIY Pop! figures
Funko has a pretty simple formula for making their Pop! figures. They are able to take dozens of characters based on movie, TV, and video game characters, apply it to their formulaic toy design, and come out with cute figures. Alright, sometimes they don’t work out, but for the most part they do.
So now they’re taking their standard design and giving it to the fans. Funko will be releasing Do-it-yourself Pop! figures so you can make every character you’ve been wishing for. Finally I can have a Sailor Moon Pop!
These will be available in a male or female body type, and your first chance to get them will be at Emerald City Comicon. Also at their booth will be exclusive Emerald Green versions of these DIY figures. They will be limited to 300, and only 100 will be available each day.
So if you’ll be at Emerald City Comicon this weekend you can be the first one to get one of these at Funko’s booth #117. For the rest of us, we’ll have to wait until these DIY Pop! figures come out in May.

BOB BURNQUIST HAS A FLOATING SKATE RAMP ON LAKE TAHOE
California’s Department of Tourism is on point. Click through for a video of skate legend Bob Burnquist skating on giant floating ramp in the middle of Lake Tahoe. The whole thing is supposed to make you want to visit Cali, but it really just makes me want to be rich so I can have my own floating skate ramp. And health insurance since I’ll probably hurt myself.
I wonder if all the rebellious skaters I looked up to as a kid secretly talk in snobby Ivy League voices to one another. “Oh, you absolutely MUST come with us to my floating ramp in Lake Tahoe over the summer, it’s TO DIE for. I can hardly imagine how I ever skated on sidewalks in public with so many poor people around!”
