Tsume Art opens pre-orders for a manga-styled HQS Phoenix Ikki
Tsume-Art's latest Saint Seiya HQS collectible is a return to a previous character: the Kurumada Masami Edition of Saint Seiya's Phoenix Ikki. The name comes from the fact that this is more inspired by Masami's original manga styling of Ikki than the anime version of the character.
So it's just an average colorway, right? Not exactly; Ikki's colors changed a lot between the manga and anime (as evidenced in the earlier anime-styled version) but Tsume also seems to have made a few other changes. Notably, they've re-done some of the detail work on Ikki's face to make it appear more like a manga-styled image, especially around his eyes and mouth. Small touches, yes, but they do make it look like a better figure overall.
A total of 400 of these 1/6-scale resin figures have been made and are available to pre-order now from Tsume for €259. What are your thoughts on the new version of Ikki, Tomopop readers?

I think, as Spring Breaks go, ours was pretty dang fine. This week included the movie theater, the zoo, a big playdate at our favorite indoor playground, a painted ukulele, 6 painted canvases (mini sized), 3 treasure hunts, fabulous fancy foods, and possibly a water park if today goes as planned. I mean really, could […]

Infinite Rabbits shows off another custom Munny
Infinite Rabbits' latest work is a custom Munny he's created for the Art Without Borders show, which is Art Whino's event to benefit Doctors Without Borders. Rabbits' custom is a suit wearing, vampire-like dude (I'm guessing from the fangs?) who also happens to be wearing a crown on his head. I guess we can call him King Business Vampire?
The custom Munny will be on display with a bunch of other pieces at this year's Art Without Borders exhibition at Art Whino's new Blind Whino space (734 1st St., Washington, D.C.). It'll open next Saturday, March 22, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and you'll need to RSVP by e-mailing the Art Whino crew to let them know you're coming (and who you're bringing with you). Even if you can't make it, you can donate here to help fundraising efforts.
