Figuarts Zero Frieza pre-orders are about ready to blow up... some planets?

Bluefin Tamashii has released some product images for the upcoming Figuarts Zero: Frieza Final Form.

Dragon Ball Z fans may recall that Frieza's muscles swelled (and presumably *other parts* shrank) when the villain fully powered up at the end of the Namek saga while fighting Goku. Although this less iconic look may not warrant inclusion in the S.H.Figuarts line, fans weren't fated to go entirely without as it instead landed a spot in Bandai's static Figuarts Zero line.

The figure itself is... interesting. Frieza is rather dynamically posed and is supported by swirls of dust, giving the appearance of flight. The sculpting is also fairly strong but, at the same time, I can't but giggle at the overall effect as the squatting pose and wide open mouth is a little hard to take serious.

All the same, the Figuarts Zero: Frieza Final Form is still a pretty cool-looking figure. He's slated for a June release and should run you around US$35 when pre-orders open.

Storm Troopers Around The World: Teasers for "Storm Trooper Kandora Wars"

Foo Dog's Mo Abedin (creator of MEGA and Mercury) has just wrapped up a "Storm Trooper Kandora Wars" MEFCC photo shoot for "One8One" magazine, and here are some splendidly cool shots to be had … And with these comes a special "revelation":
"You've all seen the helmets going around town. I'm humbled and honored to announce that I am the curator for the 2nd 'Art Wars' exhibit in Dubai with the original helmets from the first Star Wars movies that has been given to us by the creator himself Andrew Ainsworth. I have chosen 20 of UAE's elite artists to customize the Storm Trooper helmets including a special guest artist as well. None other than THE Damien Hirst.

The exhibit will take place in The Dubai Mall and then move into the Middle East Film and Comic Con. This event is also supported by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and The Toy Store. The force will be strong with this one. Trust me."

Looks like Father Burke & Cardinal Pitty’s have hit the Car-Vatican … Okay, I’m guessing there are not many toy stores in the Vatican … but elsewhere in Europe … well, Belgium to be specific – thanks for the great photos, “King Andy.” Er, what theme do these fall under? Kidrobot Does Snopp Dogg (or should that "Snoop Lion"?)

Instagrammed by @Kidrobot is their upcoming toy-release of western musician/rapper Snoop Dogg, seen totting a joint. Revealed at the recent New York Toy Fair, Plastic Kitty shares a snap of the upcoming 8-inch tall figure on display (seen below). Am unsure if this will be a start of representations of Snoop's discography, eventually leading to his "Snoop Lion" persona … heh.

Not too sure how this'll display in Singapore though - apparently there was a "subtle reminder" (nobody said "crackdown", okay?) years back, when toys with cigarettes sticking out of their mouths were "not encouraged" to be on visible display (hence Smorkin' Labbits sort of are not seen as often, nor any Frank Kozik collectibles with cancer-sticks out of their mouths) … but then again, I haven't been out much these days ... and this sure as heck is NOT a "cigarette" looooor ... heh.

"Father To Son" - Trailer for "Batman: Arkham Knight"

"In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady's uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City. Be The Batman."

Watching this stupendous video game "announcement trailer" for "Batman: Arkham Knight" (from ROCKSTEADY) had left me pondering if whether DC Comics movies could go by way of "alternative" concepts in their movie offerings - think "Elseworld" or MARVEL's "What-If?" comicbooks - whereby popular characters undergo slightly different incarnations, tomkae their celluloid equivalents are "more palatable" to the masses? … Which frankly may not be as different as their current "obvious" "New-52" direction DC is going towards, or even MARVEL's "Ultimate Comics" interpretations of their superheroes on films.

As much as I loved Nolan's take on Batman in the "real world", other notions like a flying alien, or amazonian princess from a hidden paradise of the world, might be harder to translate to non-comicbook reading folks, IMHO.

Seems Zack Snyder might be going for their "spin" on the mythology in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman, and even television's "The Arrow" is enjoying it's fruits of fandom appreciation of their adaptations of characters oft steeped in the pages of 4-color periodicals. Not tp mention my new tv-fav; "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (Caught a weekend re-run marathon on the telly, loved it when shown as a continuous whole.)

Or this might well be my way of filling up a post with words, rather than post images … be that as it may, I am personally convinced that this is one additional way to perpetrate the consciousness of the masses (and maybe make money), while not riling up the hardcore fandom too much? Or am I too delusional with this assumption? Are folks so attached to the source material they could not allow for "creative leeway"?

It doesn't matter to me as much "who is doing great" who is eating dust" or whatever. I just want to watch good, or sometimes even not-so-good geekdom fueled films. Funny how two decades ago "choices" were wanting, but now, everyone has got an opinion of what they want, or should see hahahaha

Do not under-estimate folks' tolerance for ingenuity, but at the same time do not over-rate what fans might want expect.

Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Father Burke Is a Padre & Not a Padre

Thanks for the great pics, “King Andy.” Father Burke has arrived with his two Cardinal Pitty’s (Angelo & Antonio). Technically a Father is called a Padre in certain parts of the world (along with the military calling a chaplain a padre …) so Father Burke is a Padre but in CARS terms, is Father Burke […]

My Pregnancy days

During my pregnancy, I was an avid reader, a lovable couch potato, a yoga master and a great walker. I did everything including eat, eat and eat. My in laws, specially my father – in – law, made it a point to make me laugh every time we would get together in the evenings or after dinner.

My pregnancy was really a great fun for me and my entire family. My husband and I even travelled abroad during my 8th month and we thoroughly enjoyed that vacation as well. But the best thing that I absolutely loved about my pregnancy was that I didn’t stop working. A friend and I were freelancers for a variety of publications and at that specific time of my pregnancy we had got a contract to make 40 pre – primary books for an African publisher.

03

Communicating with my child

I could feel my baby move every time I was writing, editing or even looking out for appropriate pictures for the books. She enjoyed it too and she was learning along with me. I loved the feeling. The same feeling and movement came with music, reading and while I was walking or doing yoga. This proved that an active pregnancy along with healthy and wholesome food leads to a healthy, active and mentally alert baby. Now that she is grown she loves reading books, she grasps onto things very fast and she absolutely loves the gymnastics and sports that the teachers do in school.

As I was talking about these experiences with my friend. I was informed that child is like a sponge, if taught well; especially through the medium of fun and laughter a child can grasp absolutely everything. Even the most boring and uninteresting learning exercises can be taught to a child within minutes, if it is done like a game.

Birth of Creativity 4 Tots

Then while we were talking, it hit us – why don’t we come together and do something to make our little tots smile. We decided to do this through the medium of education because that’s what we do and know best. That is how ‘Creativity 4 Tots’ was born – a fun, interactive teaching aides for parents and teachers to play with children and help them learn a variety of concepts subconsciously.

We have 15 products as of now and a Facebook page that helps parents to learn about different activities for their children.

We hope to do a lot more and create a bond full of fun filled moments for the parent and child.

Big Sister Annie & Kid Sister Fannie - NEW Raggedy Annie Ornaments E-Pattern

0
0

"Big Sister Annie" and her "Kid Sister Fannie" come from a large, loving family and as siblings often do get on each others nerves.

Now don't get us wrong. "Big Sister Annie" and "Kid Sister Fannie" adore each other and truly love each other as sisters. It's just that sometimes "Big Sister Annie" wishes she were an only child. Well, maybe not an only child as she dearly loves her brothers, "Big Brother Andy and Kid Brother Randy." Maybe just the only girl.

Well, not even that as she really does love Fannie. It's just that sometimes she wishes she could be alone with her friends without "Kid Sister Fannie" tagging along. And, sometimes she wishes she could buy an outfit without Fannie wanting to buy the same. And, sometimes she wishes she could have sleepover parties without having to include Fannie. And, sometimes she wishes she didn't have to take care of her kid sister Fannie. "And, why does she have to have the same hairstyle as me!"
Annie & Fannie are 9" primitive or country raggedy Annie cloth doll ornaments. Their bodies are made of muslin and their raggedy red boots are cross laced. Their faces are embroidered with black and white satin stitch eyes. Their noses are satin stitched red as are their lips. The outline of their mouths is embroidered as are their eyelashes and eyebrows.

Both Annie & Fannie have thick, curly dark brown hair along the side seams of their heads with the back left bare. Their cheeks are blushed with a lovely rosy color.

Their outfits are identical with frayed and gathered at the waist bloomers. Both of their blue plaid dresses are frayed and gathered at the neck. Their aprons are lace trimmed and lined and wrapped around their waists and ties in the back. Blue embroidery floss bows decorate the fronts of their aprons.

Poor "Big Sister Annie!" Doesn't she know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. "Kid Sister Fannie" just worships and adores her big sister and wants to be just like her. To do everything she does. To be loved by her.

"Big Sister Annie & Kid Sister Fannie" would make the cutest pair of ornaments for any primitive and country home.

If you want to make your own "Big Sister Annie & Kid Sister Fannie" ornaments please CLICK HERE for their new e-pattern.
