Kidrobot's Mardivale Dunny Series by Andrew Bell + Scribe Revealed (March 4 Sale)
Previewed on the Kidrobot-blog is the upcoming Mardivale Dunny Series [Previously Teased], featuring "Mardi Gras"-themed designs from Andrew Bell and Scribe on the 3-inch tall Dunny figure (some "taller" now, because of the raised "stilt-legs" ;p), with a March 4th-release and a party at KR New York. Adorable New Swaddling Baby Boy and Baby Girl Favor or Ornaments New E-Patterns
One of my all time favorite doll designs is my "Baby Nicky" doll. He's a baby shower centerpiece doll that I designed based upon my grandson "Nicky" who has the most wonderful, curly head of hair you could ever imagine. I just LOVE it and would love to swap hair with him. Of course, he hates it.
If you've been following my Linda's Blog you know that "Baby Nicky" is involved in a lot of what goes on in "The Dollie Storage Room" and was the impetus for my "It's Raining Baby Showers" product lines.When I was designing new patterns a couple of years ago I wanted to design some more baby shower centerpieces and favors or ornaments to compliment "Baby Nicky."
While thinking about what to make for favors I thought about my grandson, Nicky, who was born 31 weeks premature. He had spent 9 weeks in a special care nursery and I remembered that the nurses would wrap him in a swaddling blanket which allowed them to easily carry him around. They always looked like they were carrying him around like a football.
The nurses taught all the family members how to bathe, feed, and dress Nicky so I learned how to wrap my grandson in a swaddling blanket. So, I thought maybe a favor with baby heads sticking out of a swaddling blanket would be cute and created a couple primitive favor ornaments.Last month I decided to create some new designs for my baby shower fabric lines and designed 14 new fabrics in the SWADDLING BABY HEADS BABY SHOWER FABRIC COLLECTION. In looking at the graphics I thought they'd make cute baby favors and ornaments so I created two new e-patterns. One has two baby girl favors or ornaments and one has two baby boys favors or ornaments.

"Swaddling Baby Boys" is a pattern to make two adorable 8" baby boy baby shower ornaments or favors. The baby boys are adorned with blue ribbons and are comprised of a cloth half body swaddled in a warm & natural blanket. Both faces are embroidered. Their cheeks are blushed with powdered chalk.
One of the baby boys has blue eyes and sports straight brown hair on the top of his head which is covered by a gathered blue flannel double layered cap. The other baby boy has brown eyes and sports straight blond hair on the top of his head which is covered by a gathered blue flannel double layered cap. The boy ornaments are hung by a blue DMC embroidery floss hanger. Both are extremely easy to make.

Mijbil celebrates Carnival with a new Munny
Kidrobot are not the only ones in the Carnival/Mardi Gras mood; Mijbil Creatures also has put together something themed around the celebration, though hers is based on Carnival in Venice. Just when I thought these Dragon's Crown figures couldn't get any more hilariously tacky, Empty has come along and made a version of Amazon where she's pole-dancing on the handle of her giant axe. Classy!
While the concept seems absurd, Dragon's Crown has a well-earned reputation for being over the top which has been reflected in the collectibles based on the hit game. It's also a somewhat more interesting pose than the one Megahouse used for their Amazon. Empty's Amazon's thighs look every bit as gargantuan as the game images; this is clearly a woman who could break you. Interestingly, the size of her waist looks more sensible than other attempts as it's not just a pencil-thin midsection that looks like it would snap from the pressure between her massive thighs and heaving upper torso. The figure's pose may be tacky, but it actually looks pretty good.

OK, Here's a video I came across sort of at random and it's pretty cool. It's for a set of THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN and ROBIN Taco Bell Fast Food Kid's Meal Toys that came out in 1997. I have a complete set of these somewhere in storage. I remember that when they were available they were kinda special because, at the time, there were not too many "Mr. Freeze" items.
