Disclosure: I was provided with free products in order to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration with Disney Parks and Mom Select. The Sensability Gym in Hopedale, MA graciously offered their facility for our use. Any opinions presented here are my own. Though we haven’t been to Disney as a family yet, when I thought […]
The results are in: the winning Mera design is Concept A. DC Collectibles announced that Concept A beat C by a scant 34 votes but, in the immortal words of Vin Diesel, "It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning."
Concept A features Mera in somewhat generic beach clothing with an over-sized sunhat. DC Collectibles intends to use this design for the first edition of the statue but, in a surprise twist, the company has announced that if the first run sells out they'll produce a second run that makes use of Concept C's design (meaning that the only loser in this poll is the Tomopop-favorite Concept B).
The final tally was more than a little pathetic, as under 4,000 votes were actually cast. Concept A won with 1,371 votes, Concept C placed second with 1,337 votes, and Concept B trailed far behind with only 822 votes. All things considered, it was a fairly disappointing poll.
Emilia Nieminen, the designer, sent out this teaser photo today with the accompanying text.
Last week’s American International Toy Fair in New York City drew nearly 26,500 toy professionals from 94 countries, and boasted a record-breaking 414,060 net square feet of exhibit space. According to the Toy Industry Association (TIA), Toy Fair 2014 also welcomed an 11 percent surge in international buyers, an 8 percent rise in exhibitors, and [...]
Here's a bit of an update on yesterday's internet bottleneck over at Superdoll. A few people were able to order this new fashion when something went wrong at the dealer's end. Later in the day, it was fixed and we were able to see and purchase this very interesting ensemble called Supernova. Here is the promotional text directly from the website:
It is now sold out. The price was £219.00 which translated to $367.08 at yesterday's exchange rates.

You couldn't ask for a showier red carpet confection.
For arrivals and concealment, the perfect eye catcher.... a huge floor length feathered cape in white satin, marabou and ostrich lined in the matching celestial print satin.
An elongated envelope clutch with chain strap, strappy cutout matching sandles and of course.... a 'crystal' and 'diamond' contemporary crown make her stand out from the competition!

Gundam 00's Tieria Erde will be getting a figure made, thanks to MegaHouse. This version is based on her look in the eighth episode of season two, sporting a maroon dress (and no glasses). The magazine scan shows two hand options: one with a pistol, and one with an open hand.
There's a lot to like about this figure, especially the overall classy look with the dress. I also like the sculpting of her face and hair. Her pose is cool too, but I'd be terrified of the figure breaking off at the foot. Hopefully that joint is heavily reinforced...
ThreeA has released images of their next series of Nabler's, Deep Sleeper Nabler! Click the thumbnail above for a closer look.
Kotobukiya continues churning out Tony's heroines, this time with a sculpt of Shining Ark's Kilmaria Aideen. I have to say, dresses are in this year. Are you making a figure? Put it in a sweet dress!
Kilmaria looks ready for demon hunting with her two guns. I think the pose could be better, but the sculpt is lovely otherwise. In particular, look at the way the cloth on her dress wraps around her chest. I love it!
Two eBay auctions offering the new Montaigne Market Elise ended at more than $1000.
Both sellers are Paris based so they have the doll already. Another one of these is listed on the Show and Sell pages right now with a starting price of $1000.
If you didn't catch my prior post, the doll retailed for $206. Shipping to the US is strangely expensive at 50 Euros or $69.12. I suppose there was tax in Paris for those that purchased her directly. At any rate, it would have almost been worth it to fly to Paris, buy a few dolls and resell them.
Looks like I will have to make a decision.

The news continues to roll out the the next Transformers Age of Extinction movie trailer with the latest news coming from Paramount Pictures International YouTube page that lists the video as a "Teaser Trailer." We do know this trailer will include the first looks at scenes from the flim according to Entertainment Tonight. I can only assume this means the Super Bowl teaser was animation test footage or something else?
