Two New Releases from The Mark Ultra
Pre-order best Heavy Cruiser Takao today
One of the better, but underlooked, series of recent seasons, Ars Nova was a pretty fantastic take on the whole Japanese anthropomorphizing of vehicles, weapons--and in this case, both. It hit quite a few high notes during its short run, particularly involving the absolutely adorable Heavy Cruiser, Takao. By far one of my favorite of the Fog's fleet members, I love that she's seeing some love as a figure, even if it is just a Beach Queen.
Fortunately the girls spend no small amount of time in swimsuits during the show, so the attire here is pretty appropriate for once. Takao looked fantastic showing her figure off, and as far as Beach Queens go she looks just as attractive in this sporty pink number. It really goes well with her lovely vivid blue hair as well! I do find her expression a bit lacking, but even seeing Ars Nova getting some attention is good enough for me! Get ready to pick her up in September for about ¥4,320.

Pop! How to Train Your Dragon figures soon to take flight
You'll have to wait all the way to June to see Dreamworks' sequel to the 2010, How to Train Your Dragon 2, but you only need to wait until April to get your hands on these new Pop! Vinyl figures from Funko. The six figures include the five-years-older versions of Hiccup and Astrid, but the real stars are the four dragons. Hookfang, Stormfly, Barf & Belch, and perhaps one of the most adorable version of Toothless you'll ever see are all included in this release.
I was really surprised by how good the original movie was so I have high hopes for the sequel. I really hope Funko can go back and give the original the Pop! treatment as well! If you want to see more of these and other upcoming Pop! figures check out our Toy Fair 2014 coverage.

This Kaoru Niimi pre-order is asstounding
The Yamato Girls Collection additions just keep on coming! Sexy Science Officer Kaoru Niimi is next in line, showing us all just how a curvy meganekko can work it despite spending long hours in the lab. I may not dig the somewhat short hair, but Kaoru knows how to strike a pose that more than makes up for any other shortcomings.
You've got a number of positions to stick her in, with appropriate accessories like tablet and stylus. I'm really digging the alternate pose though, with the adorable yet alluring adjustment of her glasses. Whichever you prefer though, she looks great from every angle--especially behind! She'll be joining the crew in July, with an enlistment fee of about ¥9,800.

Tonner released a few of his 2014 dolls today and the first Tiny Kitty ever to have applied eyelashes is wearing a gown made from pink glitter stretch knit with stretch glitter gloves.
Good luck selling a $179.99 list price doll that is covered in glitter - lashes or not.
I believe this is the end of my Tiny Kitty doll collection. Thank you TDC for keeping my money out of your pocket.
New Prince of Tennis ARTFX J Shiraishi Kuranosuke Gallery
Shiraishi Kuranosuke, remember that name. Why? He's hot, and he plays tennis. No further questions needed. This young man is featured in Kotobukiya's ARTFX J line they've been doing for New Prince of Tennis, and is looking mighty fine if I do say so myself. I haven't seen the series, but if how great Kotobukiya's figures look is anything to go by, I think I could dig it.
Shiraishi is all decked out in his Shitenhoji Junior High School uniform and comes with a couple different facial expressions. One looks like a sexy smirk-like smile, and the other looks like he's really serious business about his game of tennis. He looks good with either, so I'm not sure which I like best. I do really love the wrapping around his arm, it looks really nice and well done. These were all posted on the Kotobukiya Es Blog, so be sure to check it out for the rest of the images.
