Why hello there, Ryuko - if it isn't my favorite butt kicker in a current anime series! Medicom Toy's Real Action Heroes Ryuko Matoi Senketsu ver. was a huge hit at Wonder Festival 2014 Winter this year, as it should have been, and it looks like we'll be able to get our pre-orders in for her soon. They nailed her spot on in my book, and I can't wait to have this lovely lady sitting next to me on my desk.

AmiAmi Blog had a post reviewing the details of the figure, and it looks wonderful, especially getting to see all of the details up close. I don't think there is a single thing I dislike about this figure. It's going to retail for right around US$200, and should be going up for pre-order on February 24th in Japan. However, it won't be seeing shelves until some time in November 2014. At least we already know it looks this good in color!

“Wraukn” sends along nice photos of the Wings Around the Globe Play Set. On the surface, it seems like the Dusty Crophopper Pit Row Gift Set (with Pitty, Dottie) with an extra Airport Control Tower. If they release the Control Tower Pitty, it would be a canonical display BUT based on the lack of the […]

Jason Freeny has just hit 50,000 fans on his Facebook page, and to celebrate, he's giving away a few designer collectibles. In particular, it's a signed Clear Gummi toy and a signed Skull Bomb, being given away to the top two people in a contest he's running.

So how do you win? Well, you just have to guess what the mileage is on the Freeny family's car. It's in U.S. miles (no metric guesses will be accepted) and you have until Feb. 28 at 9 a.m. Eastern. The winner, in The Price is Right style, is whoever gets closest without going over. The full rules can be read on Jason's Facebook post; good luck!

The weather is the topic on everyone’s lips this week. At least around my neighborhood: 2 big snowfalls, and in between them we had unseasonably warm weather for a change. When I walked outside mid-week it smelled like spring and I heard birds singing. Which is kind of cruel this time of year –  here […]

With the first movie trailer launched, the media onslaught continues for MARVEL's Guardians of the Galaxy with a retro "pulp"-looking poster (above), which reminds me the 'spirit' of "John Carter" (which let's hope will ot tank like the movie), and a series of Character / Profile videos, including the first time we hear Rocket Raccoo's voce (by Bradley Cooper), Let's go down the line-up, shall we?

Medicom is spoiling us with Real Action Heroes recently. Rio took a look at the lovely Ryuko Matoi earlier today, so it's only fair I level the battle of the sexes by presenting this equally stunning rendition of Levi from Attack On Titan. The good people over at the Amiami blog had a chance to go up close and personal and show off what you're getting.

With their cool looking uniforms, cloaks, and incredibly elaborate maneuver gear, the Attack On Titan cast were pretty much born to be added to the Real Action Heroes range, and Levi doesn't disappoint, looking just as great as Mikasa before him. Aside from his usual dour expression we've also got...his usual dour expression with his eyes shifted to the right. Yeah, that seems like a pretty big waste, but his third face, bug eyed and ruffle haired, is a great one, so let's let it slide.

Perhaps the coolest detail is that the initial production run will include bonus accessories in the form of Levi's cleaning hat, bandanna and dusters, basically giving you an entire second outfit. That's what I call a tempting pre-order incentive. Levi will go up for order on the 24th, and yes, that's the same day as Ryuko. Lovers of Real Action Heroes, brace your wallets for when the pair arrive in November.

Launching Saturday night Feb 22nd (from 8-10PM) @ Gallery 1988 (West), is the book release event of Josh Cooley's "Movies R Fun". Featuring R-rated movie scenes depicted as children’s illustrations, the images shown here are pretty funny and cool indeed! (More Here).
G1988 SAID: "The artist will be in attendance and this will be the FIRST opportunity ANYWHERE, to get the book. We'll also have dozens of prints and, for the first time, original artwork, from Josh available at the opening. We have put a small quantity of the prints online already and you can see those here."
