The mystery of the new Takara Tomy figure we reported previously has been solved. The figure turns out to be Mega Drive Megatron which Transforms into a Sega Game Console. The new figure will be a special edition Sega toy made by Takara Tomy. It will be shown at the Winter Wonder Festival. The figure appears to act as a USB device judging from the right hand. Get a look at new images of the figure that have been released on Twitter below.

Fighting Mortis bots to protect humanity, Tomorrow Kings are rumored to be genetically engineered clones created from generals and military commanders that once existed in Japanese history, but their true origin is unknown. Kozo himself is said to be named after a naval general. Rumor has it that some TKs are able to side step time utilizing the Underverse, and could it be that Kozo has such ability as well? And what could be the purpose of his diver-like gears? "

Debuting at the Dark Invasion show at Toy Art Gallery is the new "Slugbeard & Minis" series from Paul Kaiju, consisting of the huge SLUGBEARD, surrounded by his minions / compatriots, a couple of whom were designs from his previous releases, now all seen in chibi-form in sofubi blue! Produced by TAG, no product info is revealed as yet, (besides these snaps via @mjoukar @toyartgallery @paulkaiju) but I am sure that would change soon. Meanwhile, more snaps!

"Punky - Elmer's Little Scarecrow" and "Elmer's Little Boy" are best friends. Punky is an 11" Victorian Munchkin scarecrow who looks just like his best friend Elmer except he's a scarecrow. So, what's a little difference between friends? This doesn't bother Elmer a bit.

Punky got his nickname when Elmer was a little boy. You see, Elmer couldn't pronounce "Pumpkin" which was Punky's Dad's name for him. So, "Punky" just stuck and it's been his nickname ever since. "Punky - Elmer's Little Scarecrow" would prefer to be called Pumpkin, at least it relates to the Fall and scarecrows. Elmer pays him no heed. He likes "Punky" just fine.

As we said, Elmer and Punky are best friends. The only problem with this is Elmer doesn't understand that "Punky" is a SECRET pal. As such, he's only seen and heard by Elmer. That's right. Only Elmer can see him and talk to him.   Punky likes Elmer but feels that Elmer keeps him from doing his job. After all, he is a scarecrow.

Punky, on the other hand, knows that he's a SECRET pal. He also knows that he has a job to do and Elmer is keeping him from doing it. After all, he is a scarecrow and has to do what scarecrows do - nickname and all.  And his job is to scare away the birds and the crows not to spend all day playing with Elmer.

But, he likes playing with Elmer so he's learned how to charm his way around the birds and scarecrows. And, it actually is working. Elmer is his friend. In fact, he's his best friend. Not only that, but he's his only friend. So, he'll play along with Elmer as much as he wants. For he knows that if Elmer doesn't think about him he doesn't exist.

"Punky - Elmer's Little Scarecrow" has on the exact same outfit as Elmer except his is a lot more tattered and fringed. And, he's allowed to have his shirt hanging out. After all, he works in a field.

Punky’s face is embroidered and he has a cloth head and body. He has a lined vest, bowtie, fringed shirt which he wears out to cover his pot belly. He’s wearing pantaloons, lined sculley cap and has raffia for hair.

The one thing he has that other scarecrows don't is a wonderful pair of black and white shoes. If his name doesn't distinguish him from the other scarecrows then his fancy shoes will.   He also has a wooden rake all ready for the leaves. Or, maybe he’s using it to swat those nasty crows. Nope! Not Punky. His rake is all show. He is "The Charming Scarecrow" after all.

Plus, he has a SECRET weapon, his SECRET pal in Elmer. Try to top that all you other scarecrows.

Back at NYCC, Kotobukiya hinted at Bishoujo Freddy and Jason. This proposal honestly seemed like a nightmare to me, but hey, someone has to like it right? Today, in the mounds of all the hype from WonFes, Shunya himself took to Twitter to unveil the two new Bishoujo sketches for the Movie Bishoujo line. Well, they are certainly Bishoujo and just a step up from bad Halloween costumes.

Freddy and Jason have been given a makeover and they look good for what they are. I just don't like them for what they are. I really like Jason's design in particular, but it's weird to relate it to Jason. Freddy is even weirder to relate to. I know it wouldn't exactly be "Bishoujo" if her face was deformed like, Freddy's, but shouldn't they be a bit more to the character? It's a bit difficult to tell where the direction of this line is supposed to go. Are they mere cosplayers or rev-gender, complete with the physical markings of being pyschopathic killers?

The Bishoujo Movie line has been weird from the start for me, and this just furthers that for me. I know that there are things to like about these, as I found with Jason, but it's really odd for me to imagine these characters in this manner. All that said, they'll be ready to creep myself and your shelves out when they're released this Fall, presumably in time for Halloween.

If you're able to find a spot of Wonder Festival coverage which isn't KanColle related, well done! There's a danger that a lot some great figures might be missed under the avalanche of battleship girls, like Millia Rage from Wing! She's sporting her new look from Guilty Gear Xrd and definitely looks the part! No word on when we can expect her to be released, but it looks like Guilty Gear fans will have something else to look forward to other than the game being released! Hopefully, Wing will do a better job than FREEing and their Blazblue figures...

We also get a couple of new Super Soniko figures and some characters from Japanese Visual novel Soukou Akki Muramasa as well but my eyes are only on Millia.

Now, all Arc System Works needs to do now is announce Jam as a playable character...

After Hatsune Miku got a makeover into figma 2.0 you probably wondered who the next character would be to get the upgrade. Well look no further as we're given our first look at Saber 2.0 from Fate/stay night! She's looking extra shiny in her newly remodeled form and the sharper detail in her sculpting. Can't wait to see what type of hidden features they've stuck under her armor. What's even more interesting is that base which is a rather large pedestal for her to stand atop. I just hope they remember she's supposed to be short.

We've also got our first look at Archer in color at long last. He'll also be getting the 2.0 treatment, I suppose you can also call this upgrade even though the 1.0 version was never released. He's seen with the spiral sword Caladbolg II in one hand and his Archer's Bow in the other. He's a great looking figure with lots of sharp paint work. Definitely one I'm looking forward to this year.

So I have to wonder just who else will be getting the 2.0 treatment and if it's too much to hope for a figma Gilgamesh.
