Monthly Revoltech Report (Feb. 2012)

$

Each month, Kaiyodo puts out a new super-articulated toy for its Yamaguchi series, usually based on a giant robot. This month’s giant robot is Eva Unit 04 from the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series. And for the two following months, you can pick up Full Metal Alchemist figures. Hit the link for more info and pics for each.

If you’ve been collecting Revoltech’s Eva figures, you’re probably going to have to rent a storage unit pretty soon. This Unit 04 figure comes with a rifle, prog knife, umbilical cord, and spear of Longinus. Don’t poke your eye out with that spear.

Next month you can pick up this figure of Edward from Full Metal Alchemist. It comes with three interchangeable faces and several neat-o plasma attachments. Even the signature coat is posable.

April will continue the Full Metal Alchemist theme with Alphonse Elrich. This one’s intense. Not only can this guy balance on one foot in a kick-you-jaw-off pose, but he also comes with a light up base. And for that detailed touch, the eyes can be moved independently.

Check back each month for Albotas’ Monthly Revoltech Report.

Prize Fair 2012 Summer: Sega - Plush

Prize Fair 2012 Summer: Sega - Plush screenshot

At Prize Fair 2012 Summer, Sega's booth had a boatload of plushes but, to be honest, a good portion of them were from series that I am not familiar with. This is a flaw on my part and I must ask you, good sleuths of the Tomocommunity, to speak up if you can identify the series that are mysteries to me. Those series in the gallery include the roly-poly ghost and dog, the sheep people, the wide-eyed cats, the ball-balancing dog, and the well-dressed bears.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's move on to the plushes I can recognize! The characters of Anpanman are in a matsuri mood, dressed in festive yukata and carrying fans and, well, anpan. They come as regular plushes and as straps. Plush Doraemon straps celebrate the Western Zodiac with the titular character dressed in costumes, like a lion and a scorpion. Tomodachi 8-nin had its colorful cast adorn straps as well hold stars as full-size plushes. The characters of Pakkororin came as plushes of all sizes, including plush backpacks. Familiar faces like Snoopy and Hello Kitty were also at the event. I love that Alice in Wonderland outfit on Kitty-chan. Jewel Pets, Ms. Bear, and Sugar Bunnies' sets provide straps and plushes that are more geared towards the female eye. The green and white puppy, WanWan, plays peekaboo and begs for hugs in his plush set. The only Rody offering was the plush tissue holder. I still love it, though.

See any prizes you absolutely have to own?

The Bacon Tie is a wonderful piece of geeky fashion that would be great for any meat buff.  Are you a man?  Do you have what it takes to look lean in a fatty meat?  If you’ve attained that level of manhood already, then you’re ready for the next step… the Bacon Tie.  This polyester creation is great for very important business meetings when you have to make a good impression.  (Not really, unless you know that the guy who is ...

Background There are a number of artists, customizers and sculptors who take Onell Design's Glyos universe and expand upon it. Whether they create new Glyos-compatible parts/figures or complementary characters, it's one of the more collaborative communities in the designer toy realm. One of those artists is Ni, from NiStuff.com and 481 Universe. He has released [...]

The League of AssassinsOne of the amazing things about WizKids HeroClix is the ever increasing variety of teams/armies you can make to play against your friends (or opponents in tournaments).  The NECA/WizKids gallery does a good job of showing the packaging, but does a poor job of showing the potential of the game.  To add to what they [...]

I've always loved Kipi's cosplay work. Have been wanting to meet her ever since she cosplayed as our mascot character Mirai Suenaga.
In the cosplay section at the Wonfer Festival, was having a conversation about Kipi when all of a sudden there she was! Was great to meet her in person - she's an adorable lady!

I prefer the AFA pass instead of the Wonfes one ^^;

Yoshimi-chan!

Some happy chap.

Since I posted the last bunch of photos of Kipi in Mirai cosplay, she has had a few more photo sessions which I pucked off the Internets. Most of these from Cosrain who dont credit the original photographer so I dont know who took most of these photos. Did manage to find two of the photographers below though.
