Wing's take on Hyperdimension Neptunia's Purple Heart has hit the pre-order scene. She definitely lives up to her name, being a very purple-and-black character, and she lives up to Wing's reputation of producing well-detailed figures in slightly larger scales. Her processor unit can also be removed if you want to display her like that, but to me, it makes her a lot more boring.
Purple Heart's retail price is a pretty staggering ¥17,800; remember she's a 1/7-scale PVC figure. I can't justify spending that much for something at that scale, no matter the amount of detail sculpted into it. Can you?
"Celebrating" Chinese New Year, 3A Toys drops a surprise with the availability of CNY DRINKING MIYU - with the regular edition priced at US$150, while the 3AA Edition is a "Drunk Miyu" listed at US$210 per order.
In 1/6th scale, the fully articulated figures comes with 2 x Vinyl Beer bottle, and comes housed in a transparent box, for a 2nd quarter 2014 ship out. No idea how long the orders are going to last tho…
The romance of 2013 television epic continues, with Mezco revealing their 2014 Toy Fair Limited Edition Collectible: the BREAKING BAD WALTER WHITE action figure!
Standing approx 6 inches tall, Mezco will be offering the figures to select guests of the Mezco Toyz booth (#4931) at the New York International Toy Fair. Since this event is not open to the public, a small amount of this limited-run figure will be available for purchase via the Mezco Toyz webstore - priced at US$80, as part of a combo pack including a 8.5x11 inch softcover "Mezco 2014 Toy Fair Catalog" (x 32 full color pages).
"This unforgettable figure features Walter Walter with his khaki pants and green shirt as seen in several of the series' most memorable episodes. He comes complete with removable hat, removable glasses, a sack of cash, and a bag of blue crystals."
QUICCS shared with us snaps of the baby version of his Evangelion Tribute 7-inch munny custom from 2013, along with word that may excite fans of Quiccs' worksm and perhaps even EVA!
"Seen on these images is my Bulletpunk: Pirated Unit01 raw prototype sculpt in the works :) 3" Kidrobot Dunny Custom. Full limited run up for grabs in a few months :) More details on its release really soon!"
Thanks to toy site Distributor Hobby Toys (Distribuidora de Brinquedos Hobby), we have new and first look images of the Hero Mashers figures. This gives us our first good look at Grimlock as a toy. Additionally we get a look at what is believed to be Drift that is looking a lot like the Bludgeon action figure that is in a set with a G1 looking Bumblebee and Starscream. A third set includes a G1 looking Optuimus Prime with Jetpack and axe and what looks to Hound or Bulkhead. Sadly, these figures look to be non-transforming.
Thanks to Distributor Hobby Toys (Distribuidora de Brinquedos Hobby), we have a new image giving us a first look at Transformers Mr Potato Head Grimlock, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, and another unidentified action figure that looks like Dinobot. Leave a comment below if you know who it is. These look to be G1 series figures judging from Bumblebee's horns and Optimus Primes designs. We'll post more details about these figures soon as we know.
Early last year, NECA/WizKids picked up the license to produce merchandise based on the hit anime/collectible card game Yu-Gi-Oh!; following that announcement, NECA had a handful of less than exciting items on display at SDCC and then that seemed to it for a while. So imagine my surprise when I stopped in a new hobby gaming shop in my area and was confronted by starter packs of a Yu-Gi-Oh! Heroclix set on the wall. Pretty sneaky, sis!
WizKids, bought by NECA in 2009, apparently had been updating fans but we hadn't heard anything from parent company NECA for a while. Apparently that game wallet Kickstarter eventually included tiered rewards like the Dark Magician Heroclix figurine and a lot of figures have been announced since then including the Summoned Skull, Morphing Jar, Time Wizard, and Gate Guardian.
The starter set, available now, includes the iconic Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Feral Imp, Hitotsu-Me Giant, and Des Feral Imp (ID'd thanks to a unboxing video) as well as maps, rulebooks, and other assorted goodies needed to play the game.
While I don't play Heroclix, I imagine that I'll still be picking up quite a few of the blind-boxed packs for the figurines themselves. Hopefully NECA eventually gets to work on some higher-end YGO! collectibles since the initial press release promised things like action figures.

Seven of the Best Film Themed Slot Machines
American poet and philosopher, Henry David Thoreau once said, “This world is but a canvas to our imagination.” Nothing seems to emphasise the concept of art being all around us quite like the idea of theme based slot machines. With online gambling sites like jackpotjoy Bingo, we find endless examples of fantastically themed slots, although the true art can be found outside of the web, with the ‘read deal’ slot machines. Film themed slots are personally my favourite, deeper analyzing how creators have transformed a film and its complex ideas into a gambling machine is rather interesting. Here are seven of my favourite film themed slot machines.
With this film taking place in Las Vegas, and with many scenes inside of a casino, The Hangover is an obvious choice for a film based slot machine. In case the symbols, which include a baby, tiger, bloody tooth, liquor and Alan’s infamous man-bag are not enough, the main voiceover that hosts the game is none other than the hilarious Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong). What’s not to love?
With one of the greatest followings of movie history, this Star Wars themed slot has three base games that correspond with the three original movies, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. With a large number of images and sounds from the films, this will have any Star Wars fan hooked.
Another film with a massive following, these slots see symbols of iconic characters, such as Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, as well as the legendary Enterprise. Keeping it old-school with sounds and images, the Trekkies are in for a treat.
The Lord of the Rings
Based on Peter Jackson’s movie adaption of Tolkien’s epic book series, this machine takes you on an adventure through Middle Earth, with the breathtaking official soundtrack to keep you company. ‘The Balrog’, ‘Isildur’s Sword’ and ‘Gandalf’s Fireworks’ are only a few of the fantastic bonuses players can choose from.
When the iconic Indiana Jones theme song begins to play, everyone in the casino knows that some brave soul has just begun an adventure of wit and bravery. Outsmart the booby-trap-ridden machine, and you’ll be leaving heavy pocketed.
Who you gonna call? Slimer? If you are able to ignore the sarcastic teasing and mocking of Slimer, the ghost that leads players through the game, you are definitely in for a treat. With additional graphics, sound effects and the ever-popular theme song, you’ll be a regular ghost buster after your first spin.
Based on the 1971 classic, this slot bring Roald Dahl’s magical chocolate factory to life. With the perfect amount of adventure, theatrics and whimsical characters, this slot will leave you wanting more… chocolate!
Funko has revealed photos of their Pop! Television: Teen Titans Go! series. The first five figures from the collection are the Teen Titans team: Starfire, Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg.
FPcore have updated their site with the backstory fiction for their Recoiler and Riftshot characters that are part of the FPcore Project Ground Hammer. Get the insights on who and where these new characters came from with profile information on both of the Twins below for the full preview now.
"2013 has been interesting year for me in term of toys and arts related, DTK DIY resin toys are finally released in limited amount, it went well, it's the first toy that i ever produce and made (it's my collab with Fredy Chandra), 2013 also bring (back) my old hobbies which is drawing, almost lunch time during workday, i'll draw some and oh yeah, I started to do custom toys as well!"-shared David The Killer (on Facebook)And January 2014 has come to an end on the 31st, and a (self-declared) "Month of Reminiscing The Year of 2013" ends with this entry from David Tan aka David The Killer, and you can click on any of the images posted below to read 13 X 2013 and How Was 2013?. The LeapPad line of learning tablets from LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. was the top-selling children’s tablet brand in 2013, according to year-end sales data from The NPD Group. Phil Reed of Battlegrip has another post about how he’s seeing Leia and Greedo pegwarming – based on store visits – and therefore Hasbro needs to “save this line before the mass retailers grow tired of your peg warmers and ditch the entire line.” This topic has become one of friendly argument between us, so I […]
