De Korner, Scott Tolleson bring us Kookie No Good
Scott Tolleson's new work with De Korner is a pouty little bowtie-weatring fortune cookie named Kookie No Good. What is he no good at? Well, might just be fortune telling for all we know, but the little guy (he's a 3.5-inch-tall sofubi figure) looks so adorable being so sad. The first version of him also happens to be in celebration of the upcoming Year of the Horse, so he's painted in some traditional Chinese colors, namely red and gold.
Kookie's Year of the Horse colorway is going to be up in the De Korner shop in time for the Chinese New Year ... which is Friday. It'll be on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. GMT) for US$35 each.

If you haven't ordered Bigshot Toyworks and Martin Hsu's Miya-san yet, but you want to ... time's running out. Pre-orders end Friday at midnight Eastern (9 p.m. Thursday Pacific, 3 a.m. GMT). We've also been sent a little promo animation featuring Martin's Miya-san design, which you can watch above.
As a reminder, Miya-san is US$95. You can pre-order him at Tenacious Toys, and proceeds from the sales will go toward K-M, a community building organization that was founded by local youth and foreigners in the town of Karakuwa in Kesennuma City, Japan. Kesennuma City was one of the hardest hit areas in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

Fall for these Kotobukiya Yaya pre-orders
Jon professed his admiration for her a little while back, and now it's my turn to say how much I like Kotobukiya's take on Unbreakable Machine Doll's Yaya. It's a super neat pose that makes her stand out a lot from the crowd. Plus, her cute outfit flapping around her and some good hair sculpting brings a lot of life to the figure. Then there's that terrific base, which continues a good run for Kotobukiya of interesting, unique bases and dioramas. We really should be beyond bare plastic discs by now.
If you're in agreement with us, you'll be happy to know Yaya is now up for order. She's a little pricier than standard at ¥9,800, but I'll accept that given the base and the level of quality that looks to be on display. Hit up the links below to make sure she arrives at your door in June.
