More handpainted customs from Rampage Toys

0
0

Rampage Toys were at Superfestival 64 this past Sunday (a little more on that event coming today), and a few leftovers from the event are popping up for sale today. They include a My Little Unicorn and My Little Cenicorn colorway, custom Manotaurs and Wooper Loopers, and a Rampage Toys/Shamrockarrow custom Shark Fighter. Yes, the Shark Fighter is inspired by Street Sharks,  except a little bit downsized from their beefier rubber-and-PVC counterparts.

The prices range between US$12 for the Unicorn/Cenicorn to US$120 for the larger customs. They're listed as "Coming Soon" in the Rampage Toys shop right now, but they should be releasing in a few hours' time, for those who are interested.

Grumpy Cat amigurumi crochet and more!

Npantz22 might very well be my new favorite crocheter! I've always wished I had the patience for crocheting or knitting, but I just don't. If I did, however, I would be buying Npantz22's amigurumi pattern to make this adorable crochet Grumpy Cat! I literally had to just stop myself from just typing a bunch of happy faces in this article when I saw it.

This isn't the only adorable project this artist has done. If you check out her deviantART gallery you'll see that she's also done a ton of League of Legends amigurumi as well! They all look so awesome! As much as I hate Tibbers she sure does make me want one. You can grab the Grumpy Cat pattern from her Etsy Shop.

Badass Fanart by Sylvain "Tohad" Sarrailh

Came across this on my Facebook-stream and it would be remiss of me not to share on my blog! Witness (if you already have not), 'favorite' fictional fables and cartoon character creations - now depicted as "real" as their names imply, and as bloody as they could be, or as the artist calls it; as "Badass Fanart"!

Illustrated by Sylvain Sarrailh AKA "Tohad" on DeviantART, you can as well check out individual write-ups on lesvoisinsduchaos.blogspot.fr (in the French language).

Posted here is just a selection of my favorites, and you can see the rest direct from Sylvian's Badass Fanarts Tumblr or mirrored on my dedicated Facebook album.

“The Everyday Hustle” by Soujohn @ Redefine Gallery (Jan 6.2014)

"Gimme the Loot! Gimme the Loot!"

EVENT-PRESS: "Soujohn (of the Mai Hiro team) is preparing for a solo event on Thursday, January 16th at Redefine Gallery. “The Everyday Hustle” will feature original artwork, prints, one-of-a-kind customs, resins, t-shirts, and other goodies all centered around the hustle.

The Everyday Hustle is about the daily grind; the hustle and struggle just to make ends meet one more day. Sometimes you make money, and sometimes you gotta take money. Whether you work 9 – 5; 5 – 9, or both…it’s about gettin it. In this exhibit Soujohn features his Hoodley character as the anti-hero in a majority of the work (since he is know for playing the role of the hardest hustling hooligan in the Mai Hiro world); because he knows about gettin it, and still keeping it light.

Be sure to attend the event and check out Soujohn, he'll probably around trying to hustle his wares on the low; or just say hello."

Scott Tolleson Answers "How Was 2013?"

0

WHAT: I asked a select few folks how their 2013 was, and what should folks expect from them in 2014, and this is what they shared with TOYSREVIL…

TOYSREVIL-SAYS: I've been a fan of Scott Tolleson's art since the days of Tricycle Terror (with that being my first ever interview with him too), and enjoy his visual slice of Americana till the current evolution of his art, now involving original sculptwork, and a somewhat more aggressive and "edgier" aesthetic ... Still a fan, regardless!

SCOTT TOLLESON: My 2013 was near perfect. I can't think of a day that passed last year where I wasn't excited about an upcoming and/or current project I was working on. It was a busy year for me without a doubt. Juggling my home life, day job and personal work almost got to be too much at some points. I can't tell you how many toy releases I had in 2013. Haha. Some highlights I can think of right away were my trip to NY for the Kidrobot Evolved release, the Deadbeet show at Toy Art Gallery, my solo show at Dragatomi and the Bartholomew Punchyface release party with Luke Chueh at Giant Robot.

SCOTT TOLLESON: 2014 is pretty much starting where 2013 left off! I'm currently working on projects with 2 separate toy companies on projects I'm really excited about. I'm trying something different with these collaborations. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my fans will dig them as much as I do. Also, I'm doing more self produced toys which are all a labor of love for me. My Trayjus character will be seeing the Japanese vinyl treatment, hopefully early this year. Also, a collaboration piece that I've teased called "Kookie No Good" will be releasing shortly.
NOTE: All Images in this post were lifted from Scott's instagram @mrscotttolleson by myself and were not provided by the artist.

Tomopop Review: figma Hatsune Miku 2.0

0
0

It was nearly a year ago when Max Factory first revealed their plans for figma Hatsune Miku 2.0 in February 2013, closely following Good Smile Company's Nendoroid redo of the character. At the time her update appeared to be vaguely superficial; the most obvious changes being in her hair and new faces. But the more we saw of her, and the more we learned about the hidden features of the 2.0 body type, it became apparent we were in for an entirely new Hatsune Miku figure.

Does new mean better and are the added features really necessary? Follow me after the jump and find out!

Keith's Fantasy Club Teaser For Cassette Insects Project?

This is actually an old teaser image I found buried on the KFC weibo site from back in August. A translation of the text with the picture basically alluded to this possibly being the inspiration for the next cassette series after the dinosaurs. The "CST-I" series. Cassette Insecticons? inspired by Soundwave employing them once in the IDW comics? I'd buy cassettes that turned into bugs...
