Their Akemi Homura really impressed me when she made her debut last year but I can't say I have the same enthusiasm for their Mami. However, their sacred seven kit is really quite good, even if it's not in scale. There's also a little surprise in a figure of Yune from Ikoku meiro no Croisée and Victorique de Blois from Gosick! If only Victorique had a lower body, then she would have been a must buy for me!!
Kobato from Haganai continues to make a splash, even more so than meat and it looks like someone made a model of the Reiji Maigo from Shakugan no Shana! That's just mental!!
I wasn't too sure about the Albu Ruri kit from Sacred Seven but now that I see her in colour, I kinda want one. Damn...

Following up on last Christmas's Snowman Hug, Blamo Toys brings another seasonally appropriate resin figure: the Valentine's Hug. Cheaper than jewelry and longer lasting than a bouquet of roses, the Valentine Hug is only US$20 and limited to 8 pieces (only 3 are left). The 4 and a half inch figure is decked out in lovely pink color (reminds me of painted sugar cookies) and is equipped with little brass eyes. He comes in handprinted packaging.

Joan Corral, a resident of Barcelona, Spain, is a man of many projects: illustrating, playing in a band, and making designer toys. His latest project, the ChubByrd, is a resin art toy. It sort of reminds me of the Final Fantasy series' Fat Chocobo, only with man bosoms. Using a homemade root-casting machine along with a handcrafted vacuum chamber, Joan's special technique leaves a very clean and smooth sculpt.
But, without enough money to back production, this beauty will never get off the ground. That's where you come in. Joan started a campaign on Indiegogo (similar to Kickstarter) to help fund his rotund avian. He will need US$1400 to completely fund the operation.
