Check out GSC's Nendoroid Eren

As they tend to do, Akibahobby recently got their hands on a sample of Good Smile Company's Nendoroid Eren and posted some good preview images of him up on their blog. Sure, we saw the stock photos back when pre-orders became available for Eren, but sometimes things just look better when someone gets a final or near final product to show off.

Eren looks pretty detailed for a Nendoroid and comes with lots of nice accessories. Hopefully he will be fairly easy to pose as nicely as Akibahobby did. He looks great while flying in the air or while tied up too. However there sure are a lot of parts to keep track of. From my experience the more parts a Nendoroid has the more likely they are to fall apart. Hopefully GSC does something to address this issue in the future.

In any case I suggest that you check out the gallery or head over to Akibahobby's blog to check out all of their preview photos.

[NSFW] Pre-order Orca Toy's 1/6th scale Last Order

Japan can be kind of crazy sometimes. No matter how many years pass, what they make never ceases to amuse and occasionally disturb me. Such is the case with Orca Seed's 1/6th scale Last Order, from the To-Aru series who is now available for pre-order.

I'll try to wrap this up as delicately as I can. Here we have Last Order, a young clone girl dressed up in ribbons with a large chocolate heart in one hand that has a piece bitten out of it. To the non otaku it would seem pretty disturbing and honestly if you think about what it is, yes it can be seen as such, yet for some reason I find myself charmed by this figure. Yes, the ribbons are a bit showy, but everything here just radiates a strong cute vibe to me to the point of me not finding it sensual at all. I think a lot of it has to do with her big smile and body language. Also to be honest, those ribbons cover her up more than many swimsuits would!

Those of you who are interested in pre-ordering Last Order should know that she comes at a steep price of ¥11800. She should be shipping out in late July of this year.

Get Wash's iconic dinosaur toys from Firefly

One scene from Firefly that really made me smile was Wash playing with the toy dinosaurs that sit near the controls to Serenity. They were just plastic toys but seeing the way the pilot loving played with them, combined with the humorous dialogue, made the moment memorable. ThinkGeek must have had warm feelings for that part as well because they have seen fit to create replicas of Wash's beloved playthings, complete with actual dialogue from the show (just squeeze the little guys' torsos) voiced by Alan Tudyk, the actor who portrayed Wash. I'll admit the price tag is a tad high at US$29.99 for the pair but I can think of several Firefly fans in my life who would still consider this a must-buy. What do you think?

The Firefly Inevitable Betrayal Dinosaurs with Sound are available from ThinkGeek. Please note that this set cannot be shipped outside the United States. Licensing stuff and all that.

Arcadia's Sonico figure is sea-worthy

$

Arcadia's C:MO line is expanding out from the Evangelion universe, and the first non-Eva figure is their C:MO Sonico ... who looks ready for the sea. Wearing a little sailor outfit that only someone like Sonico could pull off, she's also carrying an ice cream in her hand as one of her accessories. You can also get an idea of her points of articulation, which look pretty standard for a poseable figure, so nothing too surprising there.

No word yet on a release is coming or a price, but the other C:MO figures retailed at ¥8,800, so I would wager Sonico will, too. We'll keep you posted if that's any different!
