Japan’s Tomy Takara has a pretty cool playset for their PLANES diecasts. Yep, it comes with everything you see here, including some cool stalks to have the PLANES above the tents. It even folds up into a book. It says it’s 12 inches long but I’m not sure if that’s the size folded? I’m under […]

The next PLANES single case F is not very exciting … It’s mostly a case to restock retail: Bulldog, Chug, Dusty, El Chupacabra, Ripslinger, Rochelle, Skipper, and Zed. So, it’s sort of like the when the movie first opened – so nice for kids who open up the DVD/Blu Ray on Christmas Day, watch it […]

"They're a pair of THREEZERO Squadt Dogs, which I was left to my own devices with. The first - the 'fleshy' one has been half-flayed, with his musculature exposed. The second, the semi-organic one is armoured and mechanised with surveillance equipment and feudal-type military markings. They don't have separate names, though collectively they're called Identify & Pursue. "
Shares Jon-Paul Kaiser of his latest custom, done in his by-now iconic style of white-on-black noir shadow, with a hint of red thrown in the aesthetics. As always, FAB WORK!

It brings me nothing but toy-joy to see releases of 12" figures from Michael Lau, especially after I got turned to the dark side of urban / designer vinyl a scant decade ago, and longed for his Gardener Gala series (being a 1/6 collector really help fueled the desire, I reckon) … and I could only bite my clenched fists while I see pics posted on the Garden(Palm)er Facebook group, for his latest ORANGE BB figure release for CSBOOTH18 @ GUMGUMGUM … *wipes away a silent man-tear*…

Seen above are snaps (swiped) from Yao-te Tsai and Terry Chan of the ORANGE BB … and then of course there is another colorway in the form of a BLACK BB!!!!!!

Both feature the furry outfit but this time with a pair of devilish-horns (instead of bunny ears), as well as a skeletal-print suit worn on the figure underneath - shades of Attack On Titan is quickly noticeable that this is just of an anatomy-based design (maybe?) … nice that the certificate of authenticity is BB's skateboard/deck tho hahaha (Additional images via Kaiser Luna)

(This below image from Terence Tang makes me wanna cry in joyousness)

Folks unable to attend the event in Hong Kong are able to snag yourselves both the BB ORANGE AND BB BLACK online via priced at US$379 each - when it opens for sale sometime "this week". Check out some snaps from the December 14-15th showcase of CSBOOTH18:

When I first saw the trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I thought it looked kinda’ sucky, but then I saw the actual movie and was pleasantly surprised. Seems like there’s no James Franco this time around, but Gary Oldman's in it, so that more than makes up for it. CG apes still look dumb though.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hit theaters July 11, 2014.

  • 12/18/13--08:09: BJD Pets 3D Printing
  • BJD Pets is a company that is creating 3D printed cats and dogs.

Aren't they just precious? Luckily there is no toy poodle (yet) or I would have to have one. So tempting. They do take orders for custom dolls.

    From their FAQ page:
    7. What's the difference between 3D print and resin?
Polyamide (3D print) and polyurethane (or resin) are two different materials. Printed cats are lighter but they have interesting texture to them. The gradients on polyurethane are airbrushed, while for 3D printing we use a combination of airbrushing and dyeing.
The velvety matte finish you can see on prints is a natural texture. We used to polish all prints, but now we don't, because once polished, it's impossible to apply dyes uniformly. And we like the texture too.)
Since we do dying on prints, colors penetrate the material and they don't wear off easily. The colors are pretty reliable. For polyurethane on the other hand we don't put any tinting on the joints.
Polyamide (3D print) is a very strong material. Very hard to break. And printed dolls hold a pose better because of the texture. Resin on the other hand is preferred by some of our customers, because it's smooth, slightly heavier and it feels nice.

Check out their website and Flickr for more FAQs and more pictures.
