A Little Bit On The Trippy Sci-Fi Side: This trailer for Beyond...
A Little Bit On The Trippy Sci-Fi Side: This trailer for Beyond The Black Rainbow is like what would happen if Stanley Kubrick dropped mad acid and directed his own remixed film adaptation of the Portal games.
Beyond the Black Rainbow, written and directed by Panos Cosmatos, is a Reagan-era fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons. Cosmatos brings a bold, Kubrickian vision to the screen in stunning detail in this sci-fi fable of a young woman imprisoned in an experimental laboratory and the enigmatic scientist who is her captor. Set in a futuristic 1983, Elena finds herself held against her will in a mysterious facility under the watchful eye of the sinister Dr. Barry Nyle. Pushed to her limits, Elena is left with no choice but to navigate an escape from her labyrinthine prison, in the process revealing its hidden secrets.
Idunno about you guys, but this is the first trailer since Moon that’s had me this pumped for an honest-to-goodness, non-CG-filled science fiction flick.

PROOF OF HEROES Art Exhibit at TATES in Florida
The basic concept: It's an art exhibition featuring nearly 300 comic book cover printer’s proofs, spanning a decade (1964-1974) of Julius Schwartz’ 42 year run as Editor at DC Comics.
Julius Schwartz began working as an editor at DC Comics in 1944! During the 1950's and 60's, he oversaw the revival of superheroes such as the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, the Batman, and the Atom, which led to the Silver Age of comic books.
These one-of-a-kind Printer’s Proof’s were originally sent to Schwartz for his final approval, before their commercial print run. The covers feature artwork from such icons as Nick Cardy, Murphy Anderson, Neal Adams, Carmine Infantino, Mike Kaluta and many, many more!
The proofs are being sold to benefit "The Hero Initiative", a great charity. For more information, CLICK HERE!
Wave's newest Beach Queens on pre-order parade
Do you like Beach Queens and/or Haganai, Infinite Stratos or YuruYuri? If you guessed I'm asking because of pre-orders, give yourself a pat on the back. We have four simultaneous 1/10-scale Beach Queens pre-order openings tonight. First off, Haganai's Sena Kashiwazaki, Infinite Stratos' Laura Bodewig and YuruYuri's Akari Akaza are all available individually for ¥3,800 at retail. Akari is coming in August; Sena and Laura are September releases.
But what's majorly surprising is that Wave is releasing a three-figure set from YuruYuri, which will feature Akari, Chinatsu Yoshikawa and the transparent Akari figure. This three-figure set will set you back ¥7,600, which is considerate given that you're basically getting the clear Akari for free ... as it really should be. Had Wave tried to charge for that, I'd be teeing off on them right now. If you're thinking of picking up the set, it's an August release. Any pre-orders from the Beach Queens parade tonight, Tomopop readers?
