Bandai is adding Sailor Mercury to the Figuarts ZERO line

Since the announcement of Figuarts ZERO Sailor Moon, I’ve wondered if Bandai would continue and make more of the Sailor Scouts. Well, the answer looks to be yes! Sailor Moon manga editor, Fumio Osano, has posted an image on his Twitter account that shows a display of Figuarts ZERO Sailor Moon figures.

However, he points out a figure on the lower left hand corner which looks to be a prototype of Figuarts ZERO Sailor Mercury. Just like Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury looks to be non-articulated, and water appears to be swirling around her. I know the consensus on Figuarts ZERO Sailor Moon is pretty bad, but maybe Sailor Mercury will be different.

It also seems like Bandai will be releasing Sailor Moon figures in the same order they released them for the S.H. Figuarts line. Now I’m just hoping Sailor Mercury will have a decent expression and no weird up skirt view of her underwear.

Andorra is an unusual country with less than 500 square kilometres of land mass, mostly mountainous and jammed between France to the north-west, and Spain to the south-east. The country lacks arable land, so almost all of the food available from the sumptuous menus at local restaurants is imported. This doesn’t seem to matter much… [read more]

"… Only a Mother can Love" by Obscure

Matthew Perez aka OBSCURE shares with us some of his creations for an ongoing series/collection, "From the Mind of Madness" (seen above). This creepy series shares a glimpse of the crazy that goes on in Obscure's mind ... and taking center stage is a custom baby doll, "… Only a Mother can Love". Dude, it's like a horror movie menagerie, and they are awesome MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

"This baby is not for the faint of heart. The other pieces made their debuts a few weeks ago at Designer Con. An army is building, and Obscure is recruiting fellow artists to collaborate on some of these beasts.

The first collabo will feature the work of none other than, JFury. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with. Obscure's goal is to eventually have a show surrounding this concept. If you would like to inquire about purchasing any of these pieces, you can contact Obscure, at matthew@angrykoalagear.com and stay up-to-date with his work on Instagram (@obscureakg)."

Amazing finished Gundam model sells for ¥926,001

How's this for a good investment? Gunpla builder Amethyst (aka Zazi_8385) took a  ¥7,000 Nu Gundam kit along with some supplies and a lot of hard work and turned it into a work of art that sold for ¥926,001 at auction. Roughly that's turning US$70 into US$9,260. I doubt I'd spend that kind of money on anything I couldn't drive, but the work really is top notch. It's hard to look at it and tell the finished work came from a kit.

Over on his blog he has a huge gallery of work-in-progress and finished photos that should really be seen. Or you can check some of the ones mirrored in the gallery right here. Surprisingly that's not the highest selling Gunpla to go on auction. It's said that the highest selling managed to sell for ¥1.3 million. Almost makes you want to take up Gunpla or to step up your game doesn't it?

See more of the Nendoroid More Pajamas parts in action

We recently gave a first look at what some of the Nendoroid More Pajamas accessories looked like when shown with actual figures. Thanks to yesterday's post on Good Smile Company Lab's blog, there are even more images to share, some showcasing another PJ mold. The previous images we saw only featured the body with the hands resting in front with the legs spread to the sides in a collared, button-down top with long pants. The other one has the figure seated with the legs bent and hands resting on the knees. The pajamas on this body type strike me as more cutesy, with puffy short sleeves and frilly edging on the hems.

From looking at the photos, I'd say that there is a good variety of colors in the accessories, the palette fitting many different character types. Although I am a tad disappointed that there isn't anything for the boy Nendoroids. Maybe those will come later?
