WEIRD NEWS - BATMAN BLACKEST KNIGHT Halloween Costume and Zombie Mask
Here's a very weird piece of Batman news I came across recently. I'm not sure if this new product has been out awhile or just started to sell this season but it's really really strange... and also kinda cool! The Rubie's Costume Company is making a "Blackest Night Zombie Batman" Costume and latex mask. It comes in both Adult and Child sizes.
Play Imaginative Super Alloy New 52 Green Lantern 1/6 Scale Figure
While SDCC was going on Play Imaginative had a pretty nice showing in the YesAnime booth. They brought all of their 1/4 scale Iron Man 3 products, their 1/12 scale Iron Man 3 products, as well as their DC Comics 1/6 scale Super Alloy Figures. On display for the first time was the Play Imaginative Super […]

New HUSH Batman and Catwoman "Kiss" Statue Based on Jim Lee Art
Early next year, February 2014 to be exact, DC Collectibles has plans to release a brand-new statue based on Jim Lee's BATMAN: HUSH Graphic Novel. It features Batman and Catwoman in a loving embrace, MEOW!
The Statue is a limited edition of 2,500 pieces that stands approximately 11-inches tall on a display base. It's gonna be kinda pricey though with a suggested retail price of $204.99. (I need this!)
The JOKER and HARLEY QUINN Make Some Strange Appearances!
Here are two random photos I came across on the Internet that are pretty cool. First, some Cosplay guy at a recent Comic Con ( Sorry, I forget which one ) made this incredible "Joker" Mask!!! This is from the recent comic book storyline where the Joker had his face removed, Hannibal Lector-Style!
Then, Harley Quinn is making an appearance on a Magazine Cover. Or, is this a faked cover? Not sure, but the girlie pin-up artwork is incredible!!

Chris McVeigh is a LEGO portrait genius
Chris McVeigh has created works of art I'd actually like to hang around my house, and funny enough, they're all made out of LEGO. There are all sorts of pop culture pieces from Star Wars to Batman to Adventure Time, and even Pikachu is in the mix!
I have a lot of favorites, but Cookie Monster might have to be my top pick. I just find it hilarious how great he looks in this format. Chris even created LEGO markers to have near the portraits, as if that's what they'd been drawn by! How awesome is this? Check out the gallery to see them up close, and head over to Chris' store to check out more LEGO goodness.

THE perfect Gurren Lagann is now available for pre-order
Studio Half-Eye is a maker of masterpieces. Their figures have earned a reputation as being some of the absolute best. If you're going to make transforming/combining mecha, the tech to do it is hard enough. Actually keeping the mecha's dimensions and scale correctly is something that I've only seen Studio Half-Eye do. That's why I was so excited by them tackling Gurren Lagann.
As I've gone over before, this figure keeps full transformation and still keeps proportion. Lagann folds out into the tiny posable head that it is, even with a little Simon in there. You can then take that same head, put a helmet on top and smash it into Gurren's top. This is something that a few other figures have tried, but haven't been able to pull off. Studio Half-Eye's effort here is the dream Gurren Lagann figure.
Today, that dream of owning became that much closer with pre-orders becoming available. What keeps me from owning this absolute masterpiece is the sheer astronomical price. If you want the figure to arrive completed, it will cost you ¥57,000. If you don't mind building the thing yourself, it will be a slightly reduced ¥40,000. At the very least, this price seems more reasonable than the Blu-Ray release!

Happy Birthday, Pee-Wee Herman!
Today is Pee-We Herman a.k.a. Paul Reubens’ birthday. Up top is my kindergarten picture taken nearly 25 years ago where we were allowed to bring out favorite toy. Like a true G, I rolled into school with my pull-string action talking Pee-Herman doll.
As a kid, Pee-Wee’s playhouse was a magical time for me. I had a pretty rough childhood - far from what you’d refer to as normal - so every precious moment spent with Pee-Wee and the gang was a moment of happiness and assured me that growing up didn’t mean you couldn’t stay a kid at heart forever.
Thanks, Pee-Wee. Happy 61st.
