CMYK Spray Paint by Giuseppe Colarusso

Giuseppe Colarusso takes objects and turns them into impossible or impractical objects in his series of images called Improbabilitá. This one’s my favorite, and I really wish it existed. You can check out the rest of the images, like a computer keyboard with hieroglyphs instead of letters and a cardboard safe here.

More Mario plushes than you can shake a tanuki tail at

I love the Super Mario Bros. games. Not only are they (and their spin-offs, like Luigi's Mansion) genuinely fun to play but they often lead to equally fun toys. I spotted a boat-load of Mario plushes up for pre-order over at AmiAmi and I am totally psyched with what Nintendo and the toy company, San-ei Boeki, have in store for fans.

Here is a quick and fluffy rundown of what's coming up:

From the world of Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon, we see two different Luigi plushes, one with him holding the Poltergust in his hands and another with him looking frightened (¥1,570 each). To my absolute delight, the ghostly Polterpup will also be made into a plush (¥940). Next, we have the Koopalings plushes (¥1570 each) from the Super Mario Bros. series: Wendy, Roy, Morton, Larry, Iggy, Ludwig von Koopa, and Remy. Finally, a cast of stock baddies spanning the series lifetime get the plush treatment (¥1,410 each). There's MechaKoopa, Buzzy Beetle, Fuzzy, Porcu-Puffer, Pokey, Monty Mole, and Spike. Yes, I am aware that a few of them (Pokey, Monty Mole, Spike, and Buzzy Beetle) have seen previous plush releases. But, they are still glorious!

All of these plushes are slated for an early December release. If I had the funds, I would purchase the whole lot of them. Do you see any character you are particularly drawn to?

Rampage Toys introduces Gachapin Goblins

Ever looked at your sofubi collection and thought, "Gee, I wish they could make them smaller?" Well, worry not, collectors: Rampage Toys has a new series of micro sofubi just for you called Gachapon Goblins! There will be seven figures, each 1.5 to 2 inches tall, with designs by Rampage Toys, Joseph Harmon, Walter Parenton and Art Junkie. As you can see, the Rampage Toys Ugly Unicorn is one of the seven, and probably the most immediately recognizable.

These seven will be debuting at Super Festival in Tokyo on Sept. 29 ... but if you want one in black vinyl, you can pre-order them on Friday in the Rampage Toys shop. They'll be US$10 a piece.

Bandai opens pre-orders for Gunpla to last you until 2014

It seems that Bandai just wants to keep people busy until the end of the year. In a slate of pre-orders opened up today, there are Gunpla releases stretching from October until December. There's more than enough kits to keep you occupied and there are still bound to be more.

Coming up first is the Master Grade of the Wing Gundam Proto Zero aka Wing Zero. It's not looking too much different from the original Wing Zero from the TV series, but you can make out where Katoki took his liberties. It will be available this October for ¥4,800.

The big release for the year is undoubtedly the MG Sazabi ver. Ka. People have waited long enough for the kit and it will be made available this December. Checking in at a retail price of ¥9,000, it's a shock as I thought it would easily creep past the ¥10k mark. Now all I have to do is wait to see what it will actually look like.

Rounding out the rest of the list are no slouches of releases. November will see the Real Grade Strike Freedom for ¥3,000 along with the BB Senshi Legend Gundam Unicorn for ¥1,000. Lastly, the HGUC F91 will round out the December releases when it goes for a sale price of ¥1,200. You can find the pre-order links for all of the items below.
