Damian Wayne announced for Club Infinite Earths 2014

In a move that even the blind may have seen coming, the DCU Damian Wayne Robin from the canceled Batman Unlimited retail line has now been added to the 2014 Club Infinite Earths subscription. However, given that Club Infinite Earths is at an abysmally low 33% of its subscription target (at the time of writing), Damian Wayne still looks unlikely to see production.

While many assumed that this announcement would occur at SDCC (given that Larfleeze was previously bumped from retail to online after first being "canceled"), Matty Collector held off for unknown reasons until choosing to announce likely as part of a last-ditch effort to encourage a subscription surge to save the now-floundering line (on a related note, Scott Neitlich put out another video, this time featuring "dancing cats", to promote the pre-orders). In truth, it's probably a prudent move on Mattel's part since there's been a fair amount of fan outcry for Damian Wayne following the news of his cancellation and the hype could help push the club those last few needed extra subs during the closing rush.

That said, Club Infinite Earths may need a miracle at this point. If Mattel has anything -- and I mean ANYTHING -- more to announce that might save their club, now would be the time to do it. Even announcing two or three potential fan-demanded characters could give the club the momentum it needs.

So far the Club Infinite Earths line-up has been announced as Doomsday (club exclusive; two types if both targets are met), Conner Kent/modern Superboy, 90s harpoon-hand Aquaman, Ice, and now the Damian Wayne Robin. The final day for subscriptions is August 19th (Monday) with the results likely going live some point on Tuesday. Those who are interested in Club Infinite Earths' (and the DCU's) continued survival are encouraged to subscribe if they can afford it.

Super-hot N52 Supergirl to join Kotobukiya's ArtFX+ line

Kotobukiya has launched a photo gallery for its upcoming ArtFX+ New 52 Supergirl, which is also currently available for pre-order.

The ArtFX+ New 52 Supergirl stands over 7.5-inches tall (in the ArtFX+'s 1/10 scale) and depicts the Kryptonian bombshell in a "I'm either going to seduce you or punch you" pose (and either way you're going to wind up lying flat on your back... what, too tasteless?). I've generally liked Supergirl's New 52 outfit (other than those silly reverse knee-pads) and Kotobukiya has done a solid job depicting its better aspects. I specially like great the shiny red and blue parts of her outfit contrast against her skin tone as well as the way that cape caresses her shoulders.

Kotobukiya's ArtFX+ Supergirl is currently listed for US$45 and is slated for a February 2014 release.

Well if you liked that and enjoy board games then you should check out Gale Force Nine's Firefly: The Game. The board game includes custom dice and miniature figurines and features missions and locations from the series. Firefly: The Game was a con exclusive at GenCon this year. However it looks like it will be hitting mass market soon as pre-orders are now available for it over at amazon.com. Hopefully local hobby shops will carry this one too.

AmiAmi has a fantastic price on these three Alter figures

Yesterday when I was trying to dig up some sales to tell you about I happened across some amazing deals at AmiAmi for Alter figures.

First up we have Alter's Majyokku Miracle-n hailing from YuruYuri for just  ¥3950 yen. I really love my Miracle-n figure. Her smile is among the cutest in my collection and there is something really fun about having a magical girl and witch in one figurine. Go here to read my full review and see for yourself why she is worth every yen of her original price, not just her sale price.

Next up is Alter's Ohana Matsumae hailing from Hanasaku Iroha for ¥4700 yen. While Ohana is not super cheap she is still adorable. I just unboxed mine the other day and was surprised to see how petite and cute she is. She is so small she will fit about anywhere in a collection and her colors ad much warmth to my own collection. Don't just take my word for it though, head over here to read Martin Siggers full review.

Last of the lot is Alter's Nodoka Manabe hailing from K-On! for just  ¥3500 yen. Nodoka is pretty interesting because of all the parts that can be swapped in and out. You can display her with a book or saluting, with her hat or without. However I won't lie, in my opinion she is far from the best of the Alter's K-On! bunch of girls. Yet Alter did a good job of capturing who Nodoka is. Honestly, if you already own the rest of the K-On! girls then it might not be a bad idea to pick her up to complete the set.
