If you really, really, really want a DVD of an “animated” movie starring a plane that talks with eyes on the windshield, who has time to go to the theater or wait 3 months for the Disney DVD … There’s this … WINGS! Originally in Russian called, “Ot Vinta 3D.” I guesses it loses something [...]

Good Smile Company reveals new Nendoroid costume project

Think for a moment; what hasn't Good Smile Company done with Nendoroids yet? We've had various stands, diorama rooms, add-on parts, and even vehicles. The only thing they haven't done is is a line of costumes for your favorite Nendoroids. Until now.

The GSC Shinsotsu/New Recruit Blog has updated with a new project the team has been working on simply consisting of costumes you can put on your Nendos. OK, it's really little more than a headless body, but hey, costumes! This is the sort of thing that Pinky:st figures used to do so it seems like a perfect match for Nendoroids. The first in the line, or at least the first prototype shown, is a rough sculpt of a police woman uniform. If that's any indication of things to come then it's easy to imagine the future will bring nurse, maid, and bunny girl outfits as well. This series doesn't even have a name yet so it's still probably a ways off, maybe in early 2014?

So what do you thing? Willing to buy a headless Nendoroid figure so you can finally have a nurse Miku or bunny girl Black Rock Shooter? What kind of costumes would you like to see made? Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing some casual wear. Can't wear school uniforms all the time, right?

DST hosts Marvel Select photo contest

Diamond Select Toys has announced it will be hosting a Marvel Select photo contest. Prizes will include rare variants, prototypes, and autographed copies of Marvel Select figures.

The contest, which runs from today through September 1, will evaluate entrants' photos on a mix of pose, lighting, composition, complexity and innovation. Any Marvel Select figure (or figures) produced in the line's 11-year history can be used for the contest. However, the contest doesn't allow any photoshopping (other than basic color corrections), customs (including word balloons), or figures/accessories from other toy lines.

Entries should be sent to collectdst@gmail.com and include a name, mailing address, and phone number. Only one entry is allowed per person and the photo can't have been entered in any previous DST contest.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners. For a full list of prizes, check out the contest notice.

While it's been a while since the ol' Scarecroodle has entered a contest, you can be sure that Tomopop's Western properties editor will try to get in on the action. The only real issue is knowing which figure to use... and, well, how to use it. The Marvel Select Juggernaut, for instance, is one of the coolest figures ever produced in the line but seems a bit limited.

Project Triforce acquires Arkham Origins license

Project Triforce recently added Hawken to their license line-up, and they've just announced another on Twitter. That would be Batman: Arkham Origins, and it shouldn't be too surprising, since they also had the license for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

Nothing new has been announced replica-wise yet, and in fact, they're asking collectors what they'd want to see from the game. You can send a reply to their tweet with some ideas, though Deathstroke's mask has already been suggested, and someone wants to see the entire Batsuit. I'm guessing the latter won't happen, but I've been wrong before ...

Telltale Games Gives ‘Fables' The 'Walking Dead' Treatment In 'The Wolf Among Us

Based on the Fables comic book series from DC’s Vertigo imprint, The Wolf Among Us shares the same comic booky graphic style as The Walking Dead games, but we won’t know what the gameplay will be like until it’s fully revealed at PAX Prime on September 2nd.

Synopsis:

Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf.  Now the sheriff of a hidden community in New York City, exiled from the land of fairy tales, Bigby is tasked by the bureaucratSnow White to keep order within a society of mythical creatures and characters trying to remain undetected in the world of the mundane.  From a chain-smoking member of ‘The Three Little Pigs,’ to a car-stealing Mr. Toad itching for his next wild ride, The Wolf Among Us examines the lives of beings straight from the pages of myth and lore, now trying to survive on the meanest and most run-down streets of New York City.

Ashton Kutcher Reveals His Real Name And Gives Solid Life Advice In His Damn Good Teen Choice Award Speech

Okay, so I never thought I’d be posting an acceptance speech from the Teen Choice Awards here on Albotas, but it seems like I never gave Ashton Chris Kutcher enough credit. Dude seems pretty alright.

Some standout lines (which is pretty much the whole speech):

"I believe that opportunity looks a lot like hard work. When I was 13, I had my first job with my dad carrying shingles up to the roof, and then I got a job washing dishes at a restaurant, and then I got a job in a grocery store deli, and then I got a job at a factory sweeping Cheerio dust off the ground. And I’ve never had a job in my life that I was better than. I was always just lucky to have a job. And every job I had was a stepping stone to my next job, and I never quit my job until I had my next job. And so opportunities look a lot like work.”

"The sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart, and being thoughtful, and being generous. Everything else is crap, I promise you. It’s just crap that people try to sell to you to make you feel like less. So don’t buy it! Be smart, be thoughtful and be generous."

“Everything around us that we call life was made up of people that are no smarter than you,” And you can build your own things, you can build your own life that other people can live in. So build a life — don’t live one, build one.”

These FFVII figures by Joaquin Baldwin are freaking incredible! Those blocky PS1 graphics lend themselves quite nicely to toy form. Each piece if available for purchase here.

Let’s take a little trip down Memory Lane, shall we? Watch The Alternate Ending To The 90’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Movie

Everyone who grew up in the 90’s remembers how this movie ends. master splinter says “I made a funny!” and the credits roll. Hit the jump to see how it was originally supposed to end.

See what they did there?

And if you indulged in all things TMNT back in the day, you may recall this original scrapped ending was actually in the comic book adaptation of the movie… which was an adaptation of the comic mixed with bits of the cartoon. Man, the 90’s were weird.
