Three more fashion Barbies released in August by Mattel: Two are fashion designer specials and the third is a fashion fantasy interpretation of a beloved film classic. All available at the Barbie Collector website as direct exclusives.

The Blonds Blond Gold Barbie® Doll

The Blonds strike again. After their successful previous collaboration with Mattel, here is their new doll. She is wearing the outfit they designed for Kylie Minogue for the video clip of the song "Get Outta My Way" back in 2010, although the doll is not in her likeness. If she was, I might be tempted.

Let's see how Mattel describes the doll (which is quite pricey, at $150, a Gold Label release):

Stephen Burrows Alazne™ Barbie® Doll

Mattel has replaced Byron Lars with Stephen Burrows in designing African-inspired fashion dolls for them. The doll looks nice but the sequins on the dress are way off scale and it ruins the whole effect. Again it is a Gold Label doll with a high enough price tag, which for me, is not justified from what I can see.

The Wizard of OZ™ Fantasy Glamour Dorothy Doll

This one would have been fun if the dress was not so Cinderella-like (the wonders Isaac Mizrahi could have done with gingham for a gown!). The ruby slippers look enticing, even though they are surely plastic. But at this price? No way. Not for this kind of non-articulated, bland faced doll.

After being delayed, the prototype of Legend Studio's Sailor Moon S figure was finally seen at the 2013 ACG HK convention. The prototype was pretty nice, not at all what I was expecting. Now we're seeing the first photo of the Sailor Moon S figure painted and this figure looks even better. 

I'll admit, since I didn't know much about Legend Studio, I didn't know what to expect. Now that I have seen their first prototype for their Sailor Moon line, I think these figures might be good. The Sailor Moon S figure is expected to be released some time between September and December.

There are few sexier things in this world than a red-headed demoness, but a red-headed pole-dancing demoness? Well, then you're just taking the easy way out! High School DxD's lovely Rias is apparently not happy with her already-wealthy position in life, and has taken up what seems to be a less than savory after school job.

It's definitely a fun figure though, and certainly very unique! I've seen a few pole-dancing figures around but definitely not too many, with a lot of producers taking the easy way out when it comes to sex appeal. I'm definitely giving Kaitendo props for something a bit away from the norm, especially when it requires an equally fun, unique pose for the actual character.

Plus, Rias definitely suits the situation even if she is a noble, and I really love the way her hair falls down along her back in this position. On top of that, her top is quite castoffable, and I must admit Kaitendo did a good job at sculpting the naughty bits. If you're into a more revealing look at lovely Rias, try out Moeyo's decidedly NSFW gallery. Otherwise, you'll be able to get a private dance in November for around ¥7,630.

I like pretty dolls. They appeal to my desire to see myself as forever young and beautiful.
Currently, my only Ellowyne, "Gilded Gloom", gets the feminine treatment in "Ruffled Up."

Avantguard "On Edge" is a fairly recent purchase. I sold off all of my Avantguards as I was disgusted with their bodies. I did love the Goldmine sculpt, however, and when I saw this doll for a very fair price I hit the buy-it-now button.
The body is crappy, wiggly, too thin and unstable. Am I making myself clear? Could be one of the reasons they were discontinued. The other reasons, well that's for another post.
Anyway, along comes Tulabelle with her giant head and her 'pick me up by my lips' mouth.
Body switching ensues and voilà! We have a beautiful doll. In the pictures, the fashion is from Yeti to Wear. The shoes are JamieShow. The wig is by Patta.

Yes, she is standing on her own, thanks to the solid joints of this body and the well-made JamieShow shoes.

A girl can't have enough furs, lace and jewelry.
