"ROCK'N ROLL" presents a sofubi project designed by Itokin Park, with characters based on an old Japanese television animation for kids, to be made available at the July 28th Wonder Festival 2013 [Summer]. Apologies I do not have either price nor quantities, but if you happen to be there, make your way to booth 6-06-10 to score some sweetness haha

We've reported that some Transformers 4 filming would be taking place on boats in the Michigan area. We have conformation that this work has been completed on both the S.S. Columbia and her sister the S.S. Ste Clair ships docked on the River Rouge. The production on the Boblo boats was reported by Columbia's ship keeper, Sam Buchanan, as "a prominent role" in the film with a second smoke stack added to the St. Clair, and "minor" for the Columbia. Shooting continues in downtown Detroit on Monday where the "Hong Kong" scenes are said to take place.

Wonder Festival 2013 Summer: Nendoroid Link, Luigi say hi

Your eyes do not deceive you: Nendoroid Luigi and Wind Waker Link art is in that header image. They're coming. We have no other info at this time, but Link should have been obvious: I mentioned it was the most likely non-Mario Nintendo Nendoroid in a feature I wrote in May.

As for why not Mario first? It truly must be the Year of Luigi ... or at least the year of the New Super Luigi U tie-ins.

Wonder Festival 2013 Summer: Time for some Tales of...

Now would seem to be a good time to be a Tales of... fan. Tales of Xillia is getting a western release within the next couple of weeks, its direct sequel, Tales of Xillia 2 has been confirmed for a western release as well AND we're getting a HD remake of both Tales of Symphonia games!

Not one to miss a trick, Kotobukiya is already ahead of our thinking and have shown off a figure of Colette Brunel! Expect her to be released sometime in 2014, probably around the release of the HD remake. I suspect that Tales of Symphonia was one of the first entries in the series for many people back on the Gamecube so getting some more figures on top of the Xellos and Lloyd figures shown at Tales fest can only be a good thing. They just better release a figure for Sheena...

Wonder Festival 2013 Summer: Kotobukiya Muv-Luv and more

Kotobukiya news is trickling in and I've spotted a few figures to get excited about. First up is a colored version of Kasumi Yashiro from Muv-Luv Alternative. It's a bunny outfit figure done by 4-Leaves, but may be a bit racy for some. Another Muv-Luv Alternative figure was on display: Sumika Kagami in her pilot suit. Following with the aesthetic of the other pilot suit figures, she'll have a rubble motif for the base.

Next up are my personal favorites: a couple of Monogatari gals! You can see Hitagi Senjougahara looking like she's scheming something in her chair (and with handcuffs). This is a reference to Nisemonogatari, of course. There's also an adorable Shinobu figure. She certainly looks excited to have a donut in hand.

Finally there's Shiki Ryougi from Kara no Kyoukai, a series of light novels published by Type-Moon. Shiki is striking an elegant pose, going for a traditional look with sword and kimono.

Be sure to check back for more WonFes coverage, there's still a ton more to go!

Wonder Festival 2013: Nendoroid Kuroko and Aigis join up

A pair of fighting girls are joining the Nendoroid lineup, albeit from disparate parts of the world. The newest reveal is A Certain Scientific Railgun's Kuroko Shirai, whose specialty is teleporting herself and other objects. She's seen here with a briefcase full of needles, which she teleports into enemy clothing and equipment to disable them.

The other photo shows off the Nendoroid Aigis figure that was teased by Mikatan last week. She's got your typically blank Aigis expression, striking her standard one-hand-up pose. Hopefully we'll see some accessories for her soon; Nendoroid weaponry is just the best!

So far, outside of the previously teased Misaka Mikoto, there's no big surprises with Kotobukiya's Cu-Poche line at Wonder Festival 2013 Summer. However, their booth does have another chance to check out two releases near the end of this year and the start of 2014: Hentai Ouji's Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko and Madoka's Sayaka Miki.

Tsukiko comes with Warawanai Nekozou and her oni mask, and it set to release in December. Sayaka comes with all her swords and will be coming along in 2014.

Check out the gallery for photos, and stay tuned for more WonFes coverage, especially if Cu-Poche Misaka Mikoto shows up!

MICHAEL-LAU-GARDENPALMER-WONDERFEST2013

On show at Wonder Festival 2013 Sunday today (not sure if folks can pre-order on the spot tho...), was Michael Lau's GARDEN(PALM)ER from How2Work, and I am chewing my nails off trying to score these figurines! I really haven't had the opportunity to suss these figures out post-TTF, but here is a quick gist (via Monster Taipei):

The 7" tall figure is priced at NTD$14580 (US$487)
per season of 10 x figures (there are multiple of "seasons", at least three) with the first season launching October 2013. Will update with further details once they are concrete…

This year's Wonder Festival in Japan sees the breakout "star" of the series manifested as a giant-head in the middle of the festival grounds, and as a cosplayer run amuck in a variety of shenanigans and as well introducing awesome "Shingeki no Kyojin" toys!

I'll wrap up this post with a look at studio snaps of the upcoming Colossal Titan figure from Max Factory x Good Smile Co, and a sweet dioramic scene along with other smaller Titans! more product and availability details when i have them, of course!

WHAT: Another Titan Shifter. At 60 meters, the largest Titan so far in the series. At an estimated 60m tall, it is four times the height of any other known Titan, and unlike most, apparently possesses a degree of intelligence and tactical planning to go with its strength. This Titan is strong enough to break down the defensive walls surrounding humankind to allow other Titans in, something it has done twice already. It has slow movements and can discharge hot steam from it's body. (description via Wiki … notice it mentioned "Titan Shifter"… SPOILERS)
