Entertainment Earth had some exclusives on display at its SDCC booth as well as general product. The exclusives included Venture Bros. figures (including a blood-soaked, naked Brock Samson because, you know, apparently there's a market for something like that), a vintage Batman t-shirt version of a MEGO-styled Sheldon (Big Bang Theory), a gold Cyclon Commander Bobblehead that features light and sound, and a blood slide Dexter.

The non-exclusives included a ton of MEGO-like figures for Doctor Who (including a Silent), The Venture Bros., Big Bang Theory, and others. There were also prop replicas on display for the classic version of the Twilight Zone, such as Talking Tina ("The Doll") and The Mystic Seer ("Nick of Time"). Then there's the whole Star Trek: The Next Generation crew in bobblehead form.

Check out the gallery for all that and more.

SDCC 2013: Hasbro - G.I. Joe

G.I. Joe has turned up at SDCC once again with a continually dwindling presence. It's a solid toy line at a good price, but the troubles the second movie caused the toy line appear to be more than they can recover from. Hasbro got stuck with a warehouse full of toys they couldn't release after the initial wave and when the movie finally got released retailer and consumer interest wasn't all there. Though the sea of Stormshadow and Roadblock figures probably didn't help.

That's my take on the current status of the G.I. Joe line anyway; though dropping some articulation from certain figures and alienating fans by constantly pushing back fan-favorites characters in favor of another Snake-Eyes or two didn't help either.

But SDCC did host a few new figures that will be released soon. The newest set of figures shown were given a strangely specific sales date of "9/13/13". If that's a joke it's going over my head, it doesn't seem to coincide with anything. Figures released in this series include the long, long delayed Kwinn figure which first appeared at JoeCon in 2011. We'll also finally see the release of Ultimate Flint, Ultimate Roadblock, Budo, and a new Stormshadow figure made to look like the original. Interestingly enough the Budo figure was delayed enough that the Bludgeon figure from the SDCC exclusive G.I.Joe/Transformers figure set used the body first.

There's also one more vehicle set in the pipe. The Ninja Combat Cruiser doesn't have a release date given, but appears to be turning up in stores. It comes with a Night Fox figure with very limited articulation. That looks to be basically the last hurrah for the line until Hasbro figures out a way to bring it back to greatness again.

Kuroyukihime bares all in a new pre-order

Accel World's "Madame Butterfly" Kuroyukihime has been the subject of more than a few rather naughty figures, and it looks like the streak isn't stopping anytime soon thanks to the capable hands of Chara-Ani's sculptors. Castoffable characters not from eroge aren't exactly common, but that's what you'll get with the latest Kuroyukihime, with viewers able to strip off her already-crumpled dress to get a look at the goods.

Thankfully, Chara-Ani did a fine job at such a tiny scale, and there's no way I'm complaining about the nice view of her bare back and those low-slung bottoms! She's got her wings left in place as well, giving the stripped down queen an almost fairy-like look, if a rather naughty one.

Of course there's still plenty to offer even for those not quite as lascivious as I. Even slightly dressed, Kuroyukihime looks great, and the effect is completed with her ever present gloves and parasol. While there's no denying some quality was lost given the scale, Chara-Ani seems to have packed a lot of detail into a tiny package. Unfortunately, this means you'll still be paying about ¥8,280 to pick her up in October.

If there is one anime that has been getting a lot of buzz this season, it's KyoAni's new sports themed series Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club. With the immense popularity the show has garnered in just its first four weeks since airing, I'm sure a lot of companies were trying to get a hold of this license. Fans will be thrilled to know that ALTAiR, along with Hobby Stock recently announced that it would be making an 1/8 figure of Iwatobi's Swim Club resident merman, Nanase Haruka. Now you'll just have to excuse me a moment as I try to contain myself.

I can't wait to see what ALTAiR has up their sleeve for Haru's sculpt, but knowing them I'm sure it's bound to be amazing. While I would love to see Haru in a dynamic pose wearing his swimsuit, I wouldn't mind seeing him dressed in his "SPLASH FREE" garb. With Wonderfes 2013 Summer just hours away, I am hopeful we might get some more exciting announcements from ALTAiR and Hobby Stock. Who wouldn't love to see Rei-chan or Makoto join Haruka, right?
