ooooohhhh this looks interesting for Boba Fett collectors! Medicom Toy announces their "SOFUBI BOBA FETT"! And the vintage-vibe on this sculpt is very enticing indeed, IMHO … and rocket-launcher backpack FTW! LOL

Standing 24cm/10-inches tall and with a SRP of ¥9,450, the figure is scheduled for a June 24th drop with ordering details here (for Japan orders). Do check in with your fav retailers for availability as well tho!

Truth be told, one of the main reasons for visiting the Sunday Flea Market at China Square Central yesterday, was to perhaps snag myself a BE@RBRICK Series 26 hand-collated set from my beloved BB-dealer, who unfortunately (or perhaps "fortunately" for my wallet) was not present (no, I did not ask in advance for his presence). So this instead is an obligatory post instead featuring images snagged from the www. The "Kick-Ass" Chase/variant BB really set me off, actually haha!

… As for getting the set now, perhaps it was not meant to be, but we'll see, we'll see…

Scheduled for a launch on Thursday, January 2nd, in 2014 is "Clash of the Titans" International 1:6 show, happening at 1AM Gallery San Francisco. Exhibiting thru Feb 1st, 2014, "Clash of the Titans international 1:6 show brings the best artists from around the world together to showcase what 1:6 has to offer, not just as a hobby but as a art platform." (image above is NOT the final graphic for the show).

Aw we speak (or rather as I type and publish), both artists and even brands are being brought into the fold via curator James Brown. Names currently signed on include K13, 1000toys, PKKing, Toria Cassaro, LighBLACK, Psycho Customs, CrestOne, KCDesigns, Zuno and Ferg! And if the "other" names will be confirmed, it would truly be an internationally acclaimed selection worthy of attention and eyeballs!

("Crazy Tommy" by K13 / View more images here / Photos by AMON)

James has started a Facebok Groups and has started introducing the artists involved, and as well there is a Events Page (to be updated when the time is fortuitous). And while these are early times til when the show goes full-steam, but is nevertheless an opportune time to get in from the ground up, and grown along with the show, I reckon.

This was what James Brown mentioned, with regards to the genesis of the show, "Why Have It"?
"We really want to bring the idea of 1:6 as an artists' platform to the public. Personally I love 1:6 and want to see it explored beyond movie and video game licenses. Those are great as well but it's so much more. I look at the works of Takayuki Takeya or BHead or Michael Lau and I see people creating works that transcend 1:6. I want to encourage artists and collectors to look for that more. The collectors are there as are the artists. And I want to see more shows like (Taipei) or Wonderfest but in the USA. For 1:6 we don't see much." ~mentioned James.
(Work by 1000toys / View more here)

What do you hope to achieve with the show?
"It is my hope that the Clash of The Titans show will be a hit and if so, (then) we can make it a traveling show, i.e. if you love it we will work with others to bring it elsewhere. ideally making it a show that pops up in Australia, UK, Taipei, Hong Kong, California, and NYC, etc. - places where it would be easier for fans to see some of the very best in 1:6, the kind of stuff that we all love but at times may not be able to score (gotta chase those grails) and a chance for artists to push themselves to create new works, get some exposure and hopefully give them the kick in the pants to put out their own work for collectors." ~adds James.
("The Balance of the Nine Skies - Kirin" by PKKing)
CONTINUED: "The last part of this show is the most dear to my heart, and that is seeing artists collaborate. We as a community grow stronger when we network and learn new techniques. This was especially true of the 1 Am legion show. (which many people just referred to as the "legion show") as with that tradition I will be referring to the show as the Titan show." ~shared James.

Tamarac man reportedly boasted he'd stolen enough 'to fill an entire Toys R Us' The investigation began when nearly $900 of Lego sets vanished midday from the Toys R Us store in Boynton Beach . Before it was over, authorities would be tailing the alleged mastermind believed to have stolen more than $2 million of toys from Toys R Us stores from Maine to California.

I should have known better than to ever let the "dollies" mingle with the trio of "birdies" I was making for my Artful Gathering "Briley The Birdie" class with Colleen Moody. The "dollies" convinced the "birdies" they should be different than "Briley."

So, despite my best efforts to get them to conform my trio of "birdies" decided to be rebellious and be the class radicals. They decided they didn't want to be cream colored. They  wanted to be sponge painted. They insisted on it and then they had all the "dollies" urge me to sponge paint them.

There were just too many "dollies" clamoring for this that I had to acquiesce. Now I know you all know I hate to give in to the "dollies" demands but with the trio of "birdies" and all the "dollies" clamoring I was sorely outnumbered.

I thought if I gave in to the trio of "birdies" on this they'd calm down and let me create them the way I wanted to. Au contraire!  Each one had already developed a personality of their own and therefore a style they thought was best for them. Who was I to argue? I was just their creator. So, once again, I acquiesced.

One thought she was a Queen and wanted to be treated like one. I named her Queen Annabell but I refused to bow and curtsy to her.

Another decided she wanted to be Bohemian. I named her Natasha.

And, the third decided she wanted to be Funky. I named her Phebe.

Right now when I look at them all together they look like little "biddies" conspiring to me.  Of course, I see bogey men everyone when it comes to my "dollies" and their demands.  And, since the "birdies" have developed such a close relationship with the rest of the "dollies" who knows what they'll be demanding next.

I'll just have to wait and see.  For sure, I'm not going to wait on them.  I might serve them afternoon tea, but that's it.

Perhaps I'll be surprised and they'll be delightful.  Perhaps they'll be nice, well-mannered, and a delight to be around.  Perhaps their charm will rub off on the rest of the "dollies."  Perhaps.......
