Yamato 2199's Yuki Mori heads out for a second sortie
This classy--and classic!--lady of Space Battleship Yamato has only been on shelves for a few months, but collectors must be clamoring to get their hands on her elegant vintage appeal, since a second run is already set to come out this August. Is it any wonder though? Yuki and her companion Rei have that unmistakable Leiji Matsumoto look, perfectly realized in pvc thanks to the experts at Megahouse.
Like Rei before her, Yuki is definitely something away from the norm, even if her fitted flight suit is not exactly short on sex appeal. It's a look you don't see often enough these days, spruced up to turn the heads of older fans and newcomers alike. While she might not be the most complicated figure, I honestly can't say a thing bad about her. Her re-release will only set you back around ¥7,000, so there's no excuse to miss her a second time!

Get a peek of the latest Cryska with Danny Choo
Muv-Luv girls have been all the rage for some time now. With armor, without armor, swimsuit-clad, you name it they've probably worn it. Or not worn it, as is the case with this very pretty release from Skytube. She's been available since last month, but it may have been easy to miss this beauty with the neverending stream of Muv-Luv merchandise hitting shelves.
In case she didn't catch your eye, Danny Choo's put up a gallery so you can see just how stunning she is without that comparatively clunky armor on. I've got a weakness for button-down tops, so this casually relaxed Cryska is right up my alley. The wonderful sculpting is just a plus! I particularly love the subtle curl of her hair over her left shoulder! The whole package is nothing short of gorgeous, but it's really the little details that pull a figure together. If you're on the fence, hop over to the gallery and take a look for yourself!

[UPDATE] Hot Toys' RoboCop, ED-209 are here
Seven years ago, Hot Toys released their first 1/6-scale RoboCop figure, and we've known they're working on an improved version for some time ... but I don't think I was prepared for the Movie Masterpiece Diecast Series RoboCop at all. It is a thing of beauty; everything is here, from the fist spike to the pistol to four different, beautiful-looking faces and battle-damaged armor. Again, like the figma, no open-faced figure, but probably for the same reason (unable to get the use of Peter Weller's exact likeness). Better yet, Robo comes with the ability to say sixof his classic phrases from the film, including "Thank you for your cooperation. Goodnight." and "Dead or alive, you are coming with me."
There's also going to be a version that comes with RoboCop's docking chair and will have LED illumination in the chair (which kind of serves as a secondary base for the figure). Both versions are coming in the second quarter of 2014.
I guess Hot Toys must have seen the news about NECA's ED-209, too, because they've also sent out info on their ED-209. Set for a first quarter 2014 release, the hulking robot has been redone as well and features tons of new detail, plus some new articulation, weapons accessories for the arms, and three sound clips of its own.
Pre-orders should be coming soon ... but looks like I'm getting myself a Hot Toys figure or two next year. Hey, Pedro; is it too late to change my DO WANT pick for the next year or so?
[UPDATE: Pre-orders open! Prices are US$299.99 for RoboCop, US$424.99 for the version with the chair, and US$409.99 for ED-209.]

It’s the End of Cave as We Know It
Cave have been making top tier shoot ‘em ups since 1994’s DonPachi. They only had one more year to go before they could claim their 20th shmupaversary. But today the Japanese game developer announced that they will be focusing solely on social games from now on. DoDonPachi: SaiDaiOuJou will be their final shooter. I feel like a little piece of me died today.

Pre-orders open for Play Arts Kai Raiden, Liquid Snake
Remember last week's appearance of Play Arts Kai Liquid Snake and Raiden? Well, that was a precursor to a pre-order; both Metal Gear Solid figures are listed at online retailers. Both come with a variety of accessories, including Raiden with his sword and mask, and Liquid with a rocket launcher.
Both figures are September releases at ¥8,800/US$79.99. Anyone going to pick these two up? I especially like Liquid and think he might go well with my Solid Snake ...

With the last Pegasus figure coming with his New Bronze Cloth, God Cloth Pegasus will come with two interchangeable faces, replacement wrist set, and a robe set. This 10th anniversary edition will be released in September for ¥7,875.
